Not much is known about the series at the present time, so anything is possible. It would be great if he was involved though.

i might very well have a stroke if a DUCK DODGERS IN THE 24th and 1/2 CENTURY series is made
that may very well have been my ALL TIME favorite looney toons gimmick
One of my favorite things about the earlier Looney Tunes comics (pre-50 before Alvarez) were the new Duck Dodgers stories. Its arguably one of Jones funniest bits since the Rabbit/Duck season trilogy. I'd be all over this moreso than the proposed Looney Tunes Babies :)
And at cartoon Network at that ^____^

Hurm! Now this idea has potential. The deep space setting could be a gold mine for a creative staff wanting to cut loose.

This Duck Dodgers series sounds like a great idea to me. Once again, Cartoon Network continues to please their audience with top-notch quality programming :D I'd be all over this instead of some stupid-sounding clone to "Animaniacs' predecessor," if you know what I mean.

This actually sounds pretty appealing (no banana jokes, please). Out of all the amazingly wonderful Looney Tunes schticks, Duck Dodgers is one of the best. I'll be looking forward to this...
Hi, Silly Me! I mean, I'm not saying *I'm* silly, I'm just saying hi to Silly Me. NO, I AM *NOT* SAYING THAT..........! {sigh} :D

Hi Silly Me!
BTW, I am looking forward to this series. I just hope Bob Bergen and Joe Alaskey are involved. It would be great if they were. Now, here's hoping we'll get some kind of confirmation on the new series.

I think this might be a good idea if they can get an decent voice.

Do you mean have a stroke in a good way or in a bad way?
Oh, and you mispelled "Looney Tunes." For that you get 30 lashings with a feather tied to a piece of yarn. :p
Jack :D
If this series get's made, I hope to see Dodgers's recurring nemesis Marvin the Martian back it action. He's one of my favorite Looney Tunes characters, and I hope that he, K-9, and the instant martians are all back in action.
"Resign yourself to your meaty fate!"- Zim
"Attempted murder now honestly what is that? Do they give a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry do they?"- Sideshow Bob
"This time we're gonna track him down, and then we'll have superhero for supper"-Hyde of the Rough Pack
"Why don't you go and bug the kids on 'Goof Troop'?"- Dot Warner.

That's really the only nemesis Duck Dodgers had (if you count Marsha Martian, well...). Actually, because of that, they'll probably *want* to make new nemesiss...........nemisi..........er, enemies for Dodgers. {shrugs} If they do, let's just hope they will be good substitutes. Of course, no one can replace good ol' Marvin.

Dude! Sweet!
I think this is one series that has the potential to be incredible and humorous - can't wait to actually get to see this (as long as it doesn't take away from the new TMNT toon).

I'm glad that Daffy Duck is getting his own series where HE can be the star instead of (coughBugsBunnycough). Now don't get me wrong; no offense to you, Mr. Bunny (I like you too). But it's just that whenever I see you and Daffy in the toons, you get all the glory and fame while Daffy Duck just receives bad luck and NO audience at all. Just watch some of the older Looney Tunes (and some of the movies as well) and you'll see what I mean. And Daffy Duck is the funniest Looney Tune around! Sure, it was nice to see that he won the previous Big Game on Cartoon Network (finally, some recognition for once!), but that just wasn't enough. He deserves some of the stardom too, and this is Daffy's big chance to finally prove his worth.
I'm hoping Bugs will be left out of the series (the fact that it's based on a *Porky and Daffy* cartoon doesn't mean they won't try to shove every popular LT character into it, or that won't try and exploit the very tired Bugs-Daffy rivalry yet again).
I'm hoping Taz will be left out of it too.
I'm hoping (yep, three sentences in a row that start with "I'm hoping") they will try and ignore what Looney Tunes has become since they stopped making the cartoons. I want them to ignore the clutter, cliches, and bad character designs the characters have collected since the 60s.

Duck Dodgers? Hold on a sec *whips out shower curtain, shuffling of clothes is heard, and whips the curtain back to reveal Elven Moon in a full space get-up*
*points finger up at sky*
DUCK DODGERS in the 24 1/2 CENTURY! :D

I'm afraid that won't be possible...He died today (02-22-02) around 3pm. He will be missed dearly.
On a lighter note, I will be looking forward to this new cartoon. It sounds as promising as the shorts were long ago.

WHAT? He's dead?! NOOOOOOOOOOO. ;_; First Planet Namek shuts down, and now THIS. What a really buggy week this has been.
Oh, well. At least things will get better when Toonami -- err, Adult Swim (I think it deserves to be called "Toonami," because that's what it mostly is) -- Action makes its debut tomorrow night. ^_^
Anyway, may one of the best animators that ever lived R.I.P. I'll miss him dearly.

A legend has passed on today, may he rest in peace and may God watch over him and his family.
Hopefully the first episode of this series will have a brief pause of recognition for Mr. Jones when the show finally airs.

No he won't for obvious reasons sadly.
RIP Chuck.

Unfortuantly, I must send my condolences to Mr. Jones. He will be sadly missed. :(
That said, I am very happy to see a DD series. I use to scamper to the Telly fast as I could to see an eppy of him. I too hope Marvin comes up, because the possibilities are endless with his Martian technology. :p
I just hope it comes soon...*crosses fingers* This series will be great. ^_^
You know - isn't this is almost ironic in a sense?
I mean, with Mr. Jones having passed, its almost as if this series will be a last tribute to what is arguable one of his greatest cartoons. And considering that WB TV Animation will most likely be doing this, I expect nothing but good things from it...

Less than a week ago I asked if Jones himself would man this project, not realizing the end was so near. I suppose none of us did; we somehow though he'd live to be 120 and be active until his very last day (though I guess that's half-true).
I only hope, like with Friz Freleng and Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, or as the man himself did for Maurice Noble on one of the "Timberwolf" shorts last year, they'll dedicate the new series to Jones in the closing credits.
