December 11, 2007

Just days before his title defense in a Triple Threat Match at Armageddon, World Heavyweight Champion Batista will put himself to the test in the Land of the Extreme, taking on the always-dangerous Elijah Burke. Will Batista send a message to Undertaker and Edge or is he putting himself in potential jeopardy before his title defense?

ECW Champion CM Punk has a big problem – literally – as Mark Henry and Big Daddy V have amalgamated their massive bodies into a virtually impenetrable force. The Straightedge Superstar was credited with a win on the last ECW on Sci Fi against Henry, but he earned it the hard way as Daddy helped the World’s Strongest Man in the cause. Kane came to Punk’s side, but can the ECW Champion handle himself against this monstrous opposition in wars ahead? How much destruction can Big Daddy V & Mark Henry create together?

Kelly Kelly continues to prove to The Miz that he can’t make her life a living hell. Teaming up with her love interest Balls Mahoney, she was able to add another victory to her tab since returning to in-ring action. Will Kelly continue to have success in the squared circle? Will The Miz find an opponent who can slow her down?

WWE Tag Team Champions Morrison & The Miz are also on a roll, having yet to lose a contest since winning the gold. Will they continue to leave their personal differences aside for the sake of retaining their titles? The champions' latest victims were the red hot Jesse & Festus in a contest on SmackDown. Will their success continue?

Shelton Benjamin has constantly proven there ain’t no stopping him now, and the last ECW on Sci Fi was no different. If the former Raw Superstar isn’t enough of a force to cause ECW veterans to be concerned, Kofi Kingston has revealed he is on the way to stir up trouble in the Land of the Extreme, as well. Only time will tell how the face of ECW will be impacted by these newcomers.

Find out where ECW is headed and learn the answers to all of these questions and more on the next ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT on Tuesday night. Also, be sure to catch ECW in its entirety every week on WWE.com (http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/ecwreplay/), available from Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon.

The best part of ECW was the Morrison/Miz- Yang/Moore tag match. Very well-done with a good finish. I like how they gave Yang and Moore a minor rub with a long match.

overall, a decent ECW.

It blows my mind how much better Shelton's become on the mic. Now maybe he'll go somewhere instead of having his pushes stall all the time. Shelton vs. Punk should be tremendous.

I just don't get the tag team division anymore. The purpose of non-title matches in many cases is to build potential challengers, and it would help if those contending teams actually, you know, won.

Except for the opening montage, does anyone know Armando Estrada is still the GM? Guy's been missing for 6 weeks and counting.

My, how far Deuce & Domino have fallen since losing the tag titles. Practically squashed by Kane & CM Punk.

If Elijah Burke was more like the Biblical prophet that is his namesake, he wouldn't be running his mouth so much. At least this time I got to see Batista beat him. Bats, though, sold like he might've concussed himself.

When you’re behind on RAW, then you’re behind on ECW. I was able to get it in before SmackDown and that’s what counts.

I bet Deuce & Domino would like to “turn back the hands of time” to earlier this year when they were riding high as the WWE Tag Team Champions, this certainly was not a very good outing for them against Kane & Punk. The match on Sunday probably won’t be a good outing for anyone.

Shelton Benjamin’s promo was “gold.” I am so happy to see him put the final piece in place. :)

*Sigh* Even with a skull on it, I am so sad to see Shannon Moore wearing a cowboy hat. The two looked pretty good in their awesome losing effort to the craftier Tag Champions, but I’m growing tired of WWE just teaming the lighter guys together. It all begs one question, where the heck is the Cruiserweight Championship?!

This seemed like the same Kofi Kingston vignette from last week. He feels so much like Carlito it’s not even funny, although he seems to be a smiling heel rather than an angry one.

Well the best part of the Divas match was Victoria & Layla’s ring entrance. Kelly has no clue what she is doing in there and I don’t see her improving. She could barely keep up with Layla and Brooke dancing and now they have her trying to wrestle.

Man, Big Daddy V & Mark Henry together is an intimidating sight. I would not want to be CM Punk right now.

Elijah Burke has just become a high card whipping boy. He’s such a talent both in the ring and on the mic that it’s a shame to see him be fodder for Batista and SmackDown’s PPV main event. That spine buster-spear unintentional hybrid was terrible.

I just don't get the tag team division anymore. The purpose of non-title matches in many cases is to build potential challengers, and it would help if those contending teams actually, you know, won. It's pretty clear to me that right now they are building the Champions and every Tom, Dick & Harry can't get be getting a title match. What logic would there have been in giving the two cruisers a title shot?
