What? Oh boy. You kids sure do love your "FQ's" don't ya. Funny Quotes, Fresh Questions. By the end of the week you'll weigh like five hundred pounds if you keep this up! Gluttons! Well here's another. Growing up I always tried to get everything I could from the movies and TV I watched, as a little add on to what it was giving me. And since 10 years ago TV and movies were doing this out the wazoo anyway, tell me:
Do you have any ways of thinking that you first learned on a TV show or movie??
The Ninja Turtles taught me how you should turn the water off when you brush your teeth. I still remember that. :)

Then my mind starts wandering to the pipes delivering the water, and how the Turtles lived in the sewers and how it always looked so fun, and by the time I'm done thinking about all this, I'm done brushing and I still haven't turned the water off. The Turtles also redefined the majesty of pizza for me.

Well, Home Movies taught us not to stick marbles up our noses. I'm presuming that applies to other orifices in the body. (tries to hide marble stuck in left ear)
Beakman's World taught me that the average human being flatulates 14 times a day--a piece of knowledge I'm sure I will be able to apply in real life someday.
Then there's the Batman ep that claims since dreams come from one side of the brain and reading comes from the other, one can't read in dreams, but I've had that come under dispute. Sometimes I can and other times the text is miserably garbled. If it's printed in large colorful letters, maybe that makes a difference....

Let's see ... Dennis the Menace taught me that rolling a bowling ball down a carpeted flight of stairs was a victimless crime. Leave it to Beaver taught me that dropping an accordion down the stairs was not a victimless crime. And Late Night with David Letterman taught me that dropping various kinds of fruit off a rooftop could be hilarious as long as you had a police permit and plenty of barricades set up first. ;)

Hmm, well cartoons like Batman and stuff taught me to stand up for what I beleive in and all the kind of stuff. Vampire type stuff, when I was little, freaked me out. And for the longest time I would make sure that when I went to sleep that my neck was covered, in fear the a Vamp would be in my room and get me. I stopped doing that like....a year ago, lol. But, thanks to Ann Rice, Vampires are awesome! And it depends what exactly I'm watching on TV. I mean, the History Channel teaches me that we don't learn from our mistakes, heh. And Animal Planet teaches me that animals are oh so cute, and that I want them all ^-^. And everything else on TV has probably screwed me up for life, yay.

I've learned from the sitcoms that everybody EXCEPT the father knows best. (I think that's a crock myself)
I've learned from "The Daily Show" and hearing of "Mad TV" and "Seinfeld" that irony is the ONLY humor there is (I think that's a crock, too).
I've learned that there's nothing worth watching on most TV stations anymore. That's why I'm always watching either Encore, TCM or VH1. (This is true, for me at least)
Sincerely,

Cowboy Bebop taught me
A) not to leave things in the fridge
B) always go out with a bang
C) whatever happens, happens
Animaniacs taught me:
A) A shrimp's heart is in its head
B) Eskimoes have over 100 words for "ice" and 0 words for "Hello"
C) Starfish have no brain
I gotta go with Geezil for the David Letterman thing ^_^
Gundam Wing taught me to live my life by acting on my emotions
and that's pretty much it.

The Ninja Turtles taught me to stand up for myself against bullies....and it's worked!
Also, I've learned little lessons like be kind, do well in school, and that stuff from shows like Garfield, Doug, Power Rangers...you know, shows that preach goodness as they take on fantasy situations, evils, and problems we'd never have to see in real life. :D

Any guy wearing an eye patch, or has mechanical body parts, is automatically a villian. That, or they are severely disgruntled. This could still be the protagonist of the story, but they are never anyone to aspire to.

LB'S Top Five Things Learned From TV:
5. Every incompetant detective or super hero will have an equally incompetant villan to face so that they can crack jokes while the enemy blows themsleves up. (e.g. Inspector Gadget, Gadget Boy) :D
4 Every superhero cartoon should have a moral reason why they are so good. (e.g. C.O.P.S. "Remember, kids, always indicate which direction you are going to turn in when riding a bicycle, just like us!)
3. Any good cartoon will eventually fall prey to political correctness and censorship. (e.g. Virtually any Warner Bros. cartoon.)
2. As time goes by, every network must have at least one "educational" Saturday morning cartoon. (e.g. Blasternaut, Channel Umptee-Three.)
1. And remember this all important lesson from the Animaniacs: "EAAAT ALLL YOUR OAAATMEAL!"

I don't believe that! Like any medium, TV has ans many worthwhile message as it does pretentious garbage or drivel...!
There was a line in Babylon 5 I've always remembered and live my life by it:
SHERIDAN: Always plant a truth in a lie - it makes it easier to swallow.
So true.
Groundhog Day: This film affected me profoundly - far more than 'It's A Wonderful Life' that abides by the same concept. There was something so pure in being able to live out the same day until your inate demons/vices/sins are expelled. I like the thought of that - being entirely content and focused. I envied Bill Murray's character at the end of the movie.
My current signature quote at the bottom of this post is from Blake's 7 - again a simple truth which I'm afraid defines myself to a tee.
The only drivel that springs to mind is Yoda. 'Do or do not - there is no try.' - I'd have slapped him for that pretentious and frankly pompous remark. He's confusing result with intent and needs to have this explained to him - loudly - as he experiences an imtimate meeting with Mr Slipper.... ;)
