I just wrote a comment on the AMPTP's website demanding they give the writers their fair share. Maybe other people here can show their support by doing what I did. Here's the web address:

This way, the viewers can let those jerk producers know we mean business. It's time we give the WGA viewer support. Fight the Power!

Nice thought but online petitions hardly work. =/

Not just a petition, but emails to the producers demanding the writer's rights. Who better to get them to change their minds than the viewers to the shows they produce. I gave you the web address. Just go to "Contact us" and use the comment box to demand a better deal. The producers will have to listen to angry viewers.

they won't listen. Most likely you will get an email like this (or no email at all)

Hello, thank you for taking interest in our show. Don't forget to watch ___________ every weeknight at 6:00pm.

Why'd you post this in the CN Forum? None of their animated shows have writers under union and won't be affected by this strike. I heard Out of Jimmy's Head may be, but really, this is being moved to the Entertainment Board so they can handle this, it may be closed from there, but I'll let them decide that.

Sorry. I didn't know since I thought they associated with Out of Jimmy's Head. So what do the rest of you think of my idea. The producers have jobs because we watch their shows. Technically, we're their bosses so they have to listen to us.

Intangible contributions such as website comments and e-mails are difficult to utilize effectively because it is so easy to ignore words on a computer screen. E-mails can be trashed with one or two mouse clicks.

Snail-mail letter-writing campaigns and the WGA-supported pencil campaign linked to in my signature seem like the best bets right now, and NPR has reported (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16727318) that even public shows of support in the WGA's favor can bolster their PR and get more Americans on their side. The best thing for the writers at this point is likely getting more and more negative PR for the AMPTP, which has already started to crack their shell a little bit, with advertisers and casting agencies on their backs to give into the writers.

this topic doesn't need two threads. plus, petition threads are not allowed
