With so many characters under their belt, I was wondering if Mr. Hanna and Mr. Barbara had their personal favorites. Did they ever publicly mention it?

I believe in Mr. Barbera's memoirs "My Life in Toons," he mentions that his favorite show was "Top Cat" because of how it was written so well, a quality which inevitably led to its cancellation, unfortunately. It was witty and in my opinion, one of the funniest of all the Hanna-Barbera series.

Not sure about Mr. Hanna though.

I believe at one point, they both mentioned that their favorite was Yogi.

That's good to know, but the topic of this thread to ask which characters were Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera's favorite characters. Not our favorites.

I would have gotten that impression. After all, it was one of their first truely break out stars they created for themselves (as Tom and Jerry was created for MGM at the time).

Maybe the key is in the "Hanna-Barbera Personal Favorites" video series that was released in the early 1990's. A certain character or series' was featured on each casset along with commentary from Bill and Joe. Anyone remember these?

Sure do, Eric. I rented a Jonny Quest volume one time. I think the PF series also included most of the usual suspects (Yogi, Huck, Flintstones). Unfortunately, the PF series isn't available on DVD, and maybe should be.

I have the Scooby-Doo. Thier personal favorites from that series were "What A Night For A Knight", "The Secret of Hark Island" with Sonny & Cher, "Scooby Gumbo", & "Wizards & Warlocks".
