S.T.A.R. Labs

Yeah, I know this is a bit of a pointless and dumb subject. But I am bored and curious. I was watching my recorded tape of Secret Origins and Batman goes into S.T.A.R. Labs to investigate. It shows a sign thats says the lab is closed. Anybody wonder what happened? And thinking about, It sorta suggests Prof. Emil Hamiliton lost his job. Think we'll find out in as future episode of JL?

Maybe it was closed for...um...the weekend perhaps? Hard to say. I'd hazard to guess that S.T.A.R. Labs is still functioning, but maybe secretly. But, possibly, due to it's association with Superman, it was closed after "Legacy".

But Seriously, I was thinking it had something to do with Legacy too.

Okay, here's some fan-induced continuity: Remember how badly Hamilton responded to Superman in Legacy? We had a thread way back when and we all hated him for it. Well, he felt bad about it and used all of STAR's resources to make it up to him somehow. It ended up in a public opinion backlash, turning all hatred of Superman towards STAR, bankrupting and destroying it. While much was taken out when it was closed down, the remaining technology still made it into the perfect location for the White Martians to hideout in Metropolis...

With Flash and Supes on the team, its likely STAR Labs will be around again. Remember STAR Labs does figure into Flash's world too. But I've been wondering if we'll see Century City (Flash's hometown) or Coast City (GL's hometown: Hal Jordan's anyway)? I've been thinking if Supes will be wearing some of his extra gear, of course he has the JL space suit, but what about the lead suit?

Actually, I think the Flash is from Central City, according to "Speed Demons" from STAS thats where Lois says he's from. And the STAS Flash is the same as the JL Flash. And good thoughts on his gear and suits... Anybody notice he hasn't worn his white space suit with the "S" on the chest?

I might be wrong, but I thought that the STAR Labs location usually shown on STAS was right on the coast, overlooking the ocean and somewhat far away from downtown Metropolis (remember how far Lois had to hoof it from STAR to get back to the city in "Brave New Metropolis"?).

The STAR Labs building featured in "Secret Origins" was based closer to the main part of Metropolis's downtown area. I figured that it was probably just a smaller branch of STAR or maybe a warehouse or R&D facility that had been shutdown.

Any thoughts?

We don't know what they'll be dealing with next season yet. They might go into Superman's past, but somehow I doubt it.

I don't think that Timm and Co. want to go back and deal with any of the baggage from previous shows. I think the closest we might get to tying up any loose ends from the Superman or Batman series would be in an episode featuring Darkseid.

But even a story like that might only refer to Superman having dealt with Darkseid before and not mention any of the specifics of "Legacy" or any other episode (similar to their approach w/Aquaman). We'll have to wait and see.
