So, as a kid, I remember always seeing that old "Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie roll pop" commercial as a kid and always wondering what the green colored pop was in the commercial. I'd never seen a green tootsie roll pop before. A couple of months ago in the general animation thread someone mentioned that the green tootsie roll pop was lemon-lime flavored. Now, I figured that I would have to put lemon-lime flavored tootsie pops on my list of junk food that I never got to try because I was born too late, along with Frute Brute and Neopolitan Three Musketeers.
But, I was in Wal-Mart today and someone asked me in I wanted to donate to some charity, so I gave them a dollar. She then gave me a tootsie roll pop for my donation. I at first chose cherry, then I mentioned that I bet there haven't been a lot of people who chose the chocolate ones, since when I was a kid no one seemed to like that flavor. Surprisingly, she said quite a few people took chocolate ones. She then mentioned how she saw one blue colored one that she'd never seen before this morning. I then mentioned that there used to be a lemon-lime flavored Tootsie Pop that was discontinued a long time ago. She then told me that she had one lemon-lime flavored Tootsie Pop. So, I excitedly asked her if I could trade my cherry for a lemon-lime, and she obliged. Finally, the lemon-lime Tootsie Pop that has perplexed me since child hood was in my grasp! I must say, it tastes pretty damn good. I don't know why they ever discontinued these.
