I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find original B&W titles of Disney Mickey Mouse / Silly Symphony cartoons which I can use on my upcoming webpage. I've been on Cartoon Research and they don't have any Disney ones. Any other B&W titles would also be appreciated. Thank you!

Sadly. the only Disney cartoon that still has the original opening & closing titles, that is shown on the Disney Channel, is the 1931 "Silly Symphonies" cartoon, "The Cat's Out" complete with the Columbia Titles. A good majority of the 1928 & 1929 "Mickey Mouse" cartoons has their original "Celebrity Pictures" titles fully intact, on the Disney Channel.

Hopefully this helps!

Thank you for the information, but I was actually thinking about a gif or jpg of an original title that I can use as a graphic on my webpage. Unfortunately, I don't have any sort of screen capture device and can't get one from the cartoon itself.

That's too bad that they got rid of the original titles on so many cartoons...that really burns me up!

That was Disney's decision to get rid if the original titles back in the 50s, about seven years Disney released on laser disc, MICKEY MOUSE:THE BLACK AND WHITE YEARS, and what the studio did was re-created the original titles, but the only thing missing from the opening and closing titles was the Columbia and United Artists logos.

Hmm, interesting, that sounds like a great laserdisc, I just love B&W Mickeys. No laserdisc player though. :( I can't wait until the upcoming Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony DVDs! :D

If you're interested in original Disney titles, check out Jon's Disney Original Titles Page (http://www.geocities.com/area51/cavern/3144/disneytitles/). It's too bad he hasn't found the time to update it in over a year. :(
