View Full Version : BB: ROTJ UNCUT on ASA
I don't know about you guys, but I'd really love to see Cartoon Network air the new, uncut and unedited version of "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" on Adult Swim Action. Some of you guys may not think it's adult enough, but the new version will be rated PG-13 when it's released to video. It would be pretty cool to see it televised on a block that appreciates adult cartoons.

Did they save the uncut version? Or was it scrapped?
Of course if it aired, there would be overwhelming demand for a DVD.

It's been constantly mentioned it the news section and elsewhere on the site that the uncut version of BB:ROTJ will be coming to DVD on April 23 along with the Justice League Premiere movie, Batman: Sub-Zero, The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest, and Batman: The Legend begins, the first 5 eps of B:TAS

I've seen "Return of the Joker" uncut (don't ask me how), and there is no way they are going to show it on TV. Maybe the edited version, but not the uncut. Too many young kids watch "Batman: Beyond". Parents would still be angry, no matter what time it would air . If there is way to show it without bugging people, then by all means, do it. If not... I wouldn't risk it. By the way, when the DVD comes out, get it. The uncut version's subtile differences (like the way the Bonk dies) makes it worth the money.

As stated in another thread at another time, it's not the programmer's responsibility to baby sit the children of parents who's parents let them stay up and watch Adult Swim. The warnings are on there for a reason. I think the uncut would be very appropriate to be shown during Adult Swim Action, within the context of the warnings and later in the evening. And this should be the ONLY version of ROTJ aired on Cartoon Network at all, as I don't think the edited version should exist. It exists only because of political influnces that swayed WB at the time, not because of any good reason.

You all ought to check out the news page more often, those of you who didn't know the uncut was coming to DVD. Seriously. There is a lot of work put in there, and it covers everything relating to Toon Zone, so you will even find Adult Swim and Cartoon Network news there on a frequent basis.
