-a pretty entertaining show, although nothing really unusual. "Rabbitson Crusoe" is hilarious!

Why is it that I always miss "Go Fly A Kit"????? I love that one, but I haven't seen it since about 1995. I remember it being a charming, cute, though somewhat ugly little cartoon with a flying cat.

Basically, the story is that a cat is raised by an eagle, and learns to fly by using his tail for a propeller. A girl cat is being chased by Marc Antony, and the flying cat uses his abilities to distract and defeat Marc Antony, annd the two cats fall in love. I don't think it's an ugly cartoon, really. It reminded me more of a storybook than anything else, with a little cartoon violence and Jones genius inserted.

I remember the story being told by some guys at an airport who wonder why a cat is waiting there. I don't remember what it looked like at all, I think I was confusing it with Pepe Le Pew cartoons stylisticaly with overgone curlicues and wierd looking characters.

Hopes it will repeat tonight!!!!

As I (semi-remember) there were 2 'toons with the flying cat -
'Kit' was the intro (boy meets girl)
and the 2nd was about the 'wife' waiting for her 'husband' to land.

anyone else remember these as two separate 'toons?

dave

p.s. - would be interested in acquiring either/both - swap, anyone?

I'm pretty sure it was one cartoon, it starts out with the girl cat waiting at the airport and one guy asks another about it. The second guy then tells the story of how the two cats first met, and that the boy cat flies south for winter every year, which is why the girl was waiting.

I stink at copying videos, it never looks right, but it may repeat tonight.

"Tiny Toon Adventures" took the idea and made a cartoon in which Furball was raised by sharks or whales (don't recall which).

To quote Daffy:

That's correct! Absoulutely, 100%, possitivitly correct!

--not a full-length short; mind you, but a bit in an episode spoofing television shows in general. "The Cat Who was Raised by Hammerhead Sharks" was a take on those overly mawkish and sentiment-dripping Disney films about animals--and the kicker was Dizzy Devil as ol' Walt himself. Plus the narrator from that bit did a pretty spot-on impersonation of the narrator from those sobfests. What next, a short about a dog who raises a baby bird (wait--TTA did that, too, didn't they?)
I'm at a loss who decide which was funnier, Diz as Lucille Ball or Hamton as the kid from The Wonder Years ("There was one thing I learned that summer...my head was a magnet for baseballs."). :p
