Hi everyone!

I noticed the WWF Trivia Thread put up by the Penguin was doing really well. Well, I'd like to try a Trivia Thread of my own! Since I don't know a thing about WWF, would you guys like to do a thread (using the same setup and rules as Penguin's WWF Trivia Thread) devoted to NFL trivia?

I'll go first... How many NFL championships were there, period? Before the AFL was absorbed by the NFL and split up into the current NFC and AFC? (Hint: The NFL didn't actually absorb the AFL until Super Bowl V.)

Second question: What was the original name of the Chicago Bears? How long did they have that name?

I'll take a crack at them.

Q1. 50 I'd say give or take a couple depending on where you start counting from.
Q2. The Bears started as the Decatur Staleys and changed after two years.

My questions:

Q1. Who was the first Tampa Bay Buc to go to the pro bowl?
Q2. Who was the last team to win it's first playoff game?

I'm stumped on the question of the Bears' colors. But I thought it was a dark Navy blue (almost black, actually most people think it IS black until they see the Bears play the Ravens or Steelers. :) ) and orange! I'm curious about this one. What's the answer?

The NFL was founded in 1933, but didn't hold its first Championship game until 1938. The NFL and AFL played each other as seperate leagues in Super Bowls I through IV (1967-1970), so the last NFL Championship was in 1970. The first NFC Championship was in 1971, after the NFL absorbed the AFL and became the NFC and AFC within the "new" NFL. So we get 1970-1938 = 32 NFL Championships total. :)

I think the last NFL team to win its first Playoff game ever was the Saints, in 1999 (or was it 2000?). Then again, it may have been the Cardinals in 1998... time to do some research! :)

My new question: Who were the NFL's founding members? (How many teams and which teams formed the original NFL?)

I didnt think anyone would get it but George Halas adapted the colors because it was the colors of the university of Illinois the College he attended.

Oh! Hey that's pretty cool! Halas just reversed the colors! The University of Illinois is dominant orange with Navy blue highlights; the Chicago Bears are dominant Navy blue with orange highlights.

Next question:
Everyone knows that the Buffalo Bills have been to four Super Bowls, and lost all four for the AFC. But what NFC team has also been to four Super Bowls, and lost all four of them?

That would be The Minnesota Vikings
Staying w/ the suoer bowl theme

What team has been to 5 super bowls and won them all.

The San Francisco 49ers have been to five Super Bowls, and won all five of them. :)

No takers on the "founding members" question?

Here's another question: What three NFL teams prefer to wear their white jerseys instead of their colored jerseys at home?
