The epic battle is upon us! You have been hearing about it all week (and before that) and today at 4:15, the undefeated New England Patriots will face the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. This the first time undefeated two teams 7-0 or better have faced each other in the regular season. It's Bill Belichick vs. Tony Dungy, it's Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning. Tonight, there can be only one!
Teams able to watch this action from home are Chicago, Miami, NY Giants and St. Louis.

Colts-Pats is today's main event, but we've already had some great undercard action.
For the third consecutive season, someone has returned a missed field goal for a touchdown. This time, Ryan Longwell's 58 yard attempt to end the half falls short, and into the hands of San Diego's Antonio Cromartie, who takes it 109 yards. Another two inches, and that play never develops (or is reviewed and all but certainly nixed).
Also, Maurice Jones-Drew (who's on my ESPN fantasy team) ran a kick 100 yards, one of 3 kickoff return TD's already today. Remember that we had 5 of those earlier in the season.

Did anyone hear that Chad Johnson from the Bengals got hurt? They had to take him off the field with a stretcher, but he does all movements in his body. It looks like the Bengals' problems are continuing to multiply with another loss against the Bills today.
I'm up with the Pats beating the Colts today. It will be an interesting game.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the Vikes when I turned the game on in the second half. It's almost like watching an entirely different team than the team that's been playing so far this season! :p
Not quite enough to make a football fan out of me, but still impressive.

It's already been a historic Week 9, as we've seen a missed FG returned 109 yards for a touchdown, Minnesota's Adrian Peterson rack up 296 in a breakout performance, and Brett Farve becomes the third QB in the past 2 weeks to record at least one win vs the rest of the NFL. Late games are underway and the Colts-Pats game is scoreless midway through the first.

YO ADRIAN?
So what.. 260yds rushing for him or something like that. The rookie of the year race is pretty much wraped up.
Go Packers. 7-1. KC was tough, but the defence was really strong. Favre had 360yrd too.
Well Superbowl XLI.5 is at half time right now with the Colts winning 13-7. It's been pretty close so far.

It looks like the Bengals' problems are continuing to multiply with another loss against the Bills today.I was kind of half-watching that game earlier, and happened to catch that play. Chad got drilled and sandwhiched at the same time, but it was a legal hit, nothing dirty or anyhting. Just unfortunate.
And it does look like the Bills have caught some lightning in a bottle, it doesn't matter what quarterback they're starting, they've won three straight. Probably a dark horse for the AFC Wild Card like they were last year, hopefully the Ravens will win the division so our loss to the Bills doesn't come back to bite us when it really matters. But for now, I'm eagerly anticipating tomorrow night's game.

Even though I was rooting for the Patriots(still a bit bitter after the Ravens lost to the Colts in the playoffs last year) they really showed how little respect they as a team have for the game. Spiking the ball on the Colts logo after the fumble, Bill walking right past Tony Dungy without so much as looking at him, much less offering a handshake...wow. The Patriots are a great team, sure, Randy Moss makes insane catches look easy and not many quarterbacks can engineer a comeback like that in the dying minutes of the game. But they are such terrible sports.
I don't care who does it, I just want a team, any team, to humble the Patriots.
Edit: Of course, the Pats aren't the only ones at fault here. I knew I heard the Colts pumping additional crowd noise into their stadium, and it's been reported by others. I just don't know what to say, other than WEAK.

I noticed early in the game that despite the Colts having the advantage on offense and playing at home, they still settled for 3 points within the 10-yard line of the Patriots, rather than go for it on fourth and goal. I know it's almost guaranteed 3 points, but when going up against a team that can score a touchdown in under a minute, I think it's better to go for the touchdown in that scenario, and sure enough, late in the game, the Patriots took advantage of the conservative scoring strategy on the Colts' part.

Another big week for Adrian Peterson!! :) The only problem is, if a team can stop him, they have virtually no passing game to support it. I felt Bollinger got a bum rap when he went all the way down to third-string. Based on what I read on-line, he performed rather well after Jackson went down again.
I didn't get to watch a lot of the Sunday night game, but it seems clear to me what happened. The Eagles took the Green theme NBC kicked off with the game and reduced their energy output, thinking they were helping the environment. :p

I think he was like.. 7-10 for around 100 yards or so. (Bollinger that is)
Adrian Peterson is a manchild though, seriously. Even with eight in the box against him, he runs all over the opposition.

I`m really starting to missed ESPN sunday night football cause NBC games has ben crappy except for the steelers and bronco game. Why did they pick this game over the pats and colts? T.O. vs Eagles is old news, the pats and their bad attuide is what people want to see. And why hack they keep picking NFC teams when the AFC has the best teams?

WOW, Pats/Colts, nice game.
Pats come back in 4th quarter, down 10 with 10 to go. Impresive.
Randy Moss is amazing,... I still think the Packers should have got him.
I Chargers/Vikings game was very exciting as well. LT, 4th all time for rushing TD's. There was a 109 missed FG return, but if you ask me it was more like 109.7yds. Adrain got 296yds rushing, a new single game record, and he's only a rookie.
Brett Favre beats 31 teams (the week after Manning and Brady).
And Manning will have to hold of one more week for his 100 victory. And if he does win next week, that will be his 153rd game, tieing Brett Favre for 4th in the race to 100 wins.

If not, I don't know how the NFL assigns games to times in the preseason, but I can't imagine it makes a difference whether the Sunday night game airs on ESPN or NBC. Patriots-Colts would sound like a sure thing for a national game to me, but the call's not mine.

wow, the Steelers are just owning the Ravens.
28-0 already, Big Ben has 4TD, and it's still the first half.
Can't wait to see how many he'll have on the day.

Dinking and dunking when down by 31...glad to see McNair and Billick haven't changed what's made the Ravens offense so fearsome coming into the game. It's pretty sad when the highlight of our game is Willis flipping the Steeler guy off his feet and into a backflip. Ok, well, I guess McGahee's TD run was nice, but I think the Steelers weren't even paying attention at that point.
McNair needed to get benched in the second quarter, I have no idea whay he's still in. He's personally responsible for 3 turnovers, it's the Bengals game all over again. The man folds like a lawn chair under pressure and any pass over ten yards for him is going to be picked off. Of coure, Billick's playcalling continues to offend. Hopefully he's on the hot seat, I think he's had more then enough time ot turn the offense around, get him out of here. If Boller doesn't start against Cincy next week then I just might lose my mind.
Still, eight games left. Chargers have been blown out this season and they're still a fashionable team to contend. Same with Jags. 4-4 is not ideal but the ship can be turned around.
Edit: Boller in! And he goes deep and misses! Boy I can't wait to get trashed by the bandwagon Steeler fans at school tomorrow.

Lucky for the ravens, the steelers are not the pats. Other wise the score would be 55-7. Is it me or do the ravens hate big ben? Looks like every they play him they try to kill the poor guy. Oh well BB got the last laugh tonight. James harrison was a bloody beast.

5TD's in the first half, then 0 in the second... aww man. I was hopeing that Big Ben would get like 7TD passes. Wouldn't that be a record?
So what, Cowboys and Giants next week? That whould an a good matchup. The Cowboys are one of the two teams that the Giants lost to (that and the Packers, both 7-1)

Thanksgiving against Detriot always makes me nervous.
Both teams are one-dimentional (all Pass).
I think it's going to come down to who wants it more.
And don't forget that they play again near the end of the season.

That's because the networks have the right to protect one game from being put on Sunday Night or Monday Night football each week. CBS chose to protect the Cowboys/ Patriots and Colts/ Patriots games that way when the schedule was being made much like FOX chose to protect the Cowboys/ Giants game that way this next week. One game is typically a national broadcast game of the week for those networks on a rotating basis, so it usually gets almost as much coverage as the Sunday Night and Monday Night games anyway. Only Houston didn't get the Pats/ Colts game on Sunday afternoon, so it really was a nationally broadcast game.

I believe you mean dimensional, but the Lions aren't all pass. Their rushing yards per game have increased since Kevin Jones came back, and they do have a Jones/ Bell 1-2 rushing combo that's always dangerous. You can't really say that about the Packers backs at this time, but the Packers rushing yardage has also been increasing the past couple of weeks.

congrats to adrian peterson of the vikings! 296 rushing yards today to set an all-time nfl single game record
I am TICKED OFF at my local CBS station.
They switch to the Pats-Colts game and we in central Iowa didn't get to see
Peterson break the record.

Vikings have signed Koy Detmer to be a Backup QB.

Sorry about the spelling error (again  ).
Well, the Packers run game it still ranked last in the league. Usually, the only way to get bye without a decent running game is to have a sucessful short passing game, which the Packers do very well.
And, there rushing average did go up, but only because they faced the Broncos, who have the worst rushing defence in the league.
But, don't forget, that the Packers Passing offence in ranked 2nd, behind the Patriots.
