we all knew this in the comic book version, from the Marvel database
...and, after a battle between Spider-Man and the Puma, she revealed that she had known (or at least suspected) Peter Parker's secret identity from almost the beginning of his career.
But since the newspaper strip version take a different continuity/timeline (no Gwen Stacy cameo appearance for example), how Mary-Jane discovered then Spidey is Peter Parker in the newspaper strip?
and I discovered by luck then the Houston Chronicle still got the Spider-man newspaper version at
