I was wondering for those who have read some of "Just Imagine Stan Lee", how are they? Do you think that DC will print Trade Paper back of them in the future?

I picked up the first 3 or 4 issues then stopped. I found them rather unimpressive and disappointing. I guess I was expecting more of that magic that Stan Lee breathed into the early Marvel comics but instead got stories that served as nothing more than glorified Elseworlds stories. Not for me.

I picked up all six as they came out. I'm a big Elseworld fan and this seemed like an interesting experiment. It was um, alright, but not a 4 star knockout.
The first two are the best for seperate reasons-Batman was a fastinating recreation and spin on the character.
Wonder Woman was done with Jim Lee, so it looked gorgeous and I enjoyed the shift in mythology.
The rest were... eh. I bought 'em and I'm not sorry I did, but I don't think I'm going to pick up the next 6 or 7. Maybe I will maybe I won't, I'll decide once I'm in the store. Perhaps with the less iconic characters Stan will take more risks, Shazam sounds like it might be okay.
I can't give it a ringing endorsement, but I don know. If they do print a trade it might be worth it if there's a little bit of commentary from Stan. But as to if they will or won't I can't say.

I think they dropped the ball with this one. IMHO, it would have been much more interesting to see Stan write one-shots of the actual characters, rather than "re-invent " them. Sure, he could play around with the characters and take some creative liberties with them, but this notion of "Stan creates a new character and calls it Superman" is not as cool as "Stan Lee writes Superman" would be.

Definitely agree with Russkafin.

Extremely, extremely, extremely dissapointing and overpriced. Really overpriced. Yet, the still sell like hotcakes for DC so someone must be enjoying them. I wil lsay the art was been pretty decent on most of the. Chris Bachalo is doing the May "Just Imagine" about Catwoman. Could be interesting...

I only read Stan Lee's Batman, but even as I was typing "Batman" I started to spell it with "Spi" which just goes to show that to me, his "re-invention" of Batman was just some new ideas of how he could have done Spider-Man.
If anything, he took more away from Batman then what he put into the character. Bruce Wayne's diverse character was boiled down to the basics and the costume just plain looked bad.
As stated by Russkafin, I would rather Stan had taken the existing character and told his own tales with some liberties then to just make this stuff up. It's on shaking ground to begin with, last I read, his last few true comics with Marvel were considered rather poor in quality, and to this day some fans will snicker during Kevin Smith's Mallrats when Stan Lee says, "You keep reading them, I'll keep writing them."
I've been tempted, but I only picked up Batman because I'm a fan, and I've realized those are some of the last people who should read them, because Stan will just shot you in the balls.
