Best EVER! Tommy Tortoise & Moe Hare Cartoon

I figured I'd get into the act of Famous Studios/Harveytoons best cartoon shorts from stars or comedy teams...Well, is my poll on what do you think is the best Tommy Tortoise & Moe Hare cartoon one reeler ever made.

Actually, there were SIX. The other two are 1961's "Turning the Fables" and "Turtle Scoop".

True Thad! but those shorts were never billed as offical TT&MH cartoons but under the banner of Modern Madcap, with no name characters but as one-shot cartoons.

I voted for "WINNER BY A HARE" as my all time favortie TT&MH cartoon and for good reasons...For starters, it takes the same storyline as Disney's version and Warner's of the aesop's fables Hare vs. tortoise story.But this version has a major twist, in where Moe keeps loosing to Tommy and the turtle keeps betting on himself to win the big race aganist the rabbit.So Moe decides to bet on Tommy to win the next race and he bets everything(including the shirt of his back) he personally owns to hit the jackpot.

One attempt after another, Moe does everything to make sure that Tommy wins the race, such as, scaring the living daylights in a graveyard out of the tortoise only to have a cannon(popping out of his shell) and blowing Moe right into a tree.Then in one last desperate attempt Moe ties a rocket to Tommy and when he catches on the plan backfires on Moe, sending the rabbit right into the finish line, making the rabbit winning the big race.When Moe is declared the winner, he finds out that Tommy betted all his money on Moe to win the race and comes out a millionare.

After seeing that Moe pulls out a gun and (graphic scene) "BLOWS" his brains out, only to see his ghost of Moe pull a grave and the cartoons ends..

A pure classic! :D :D :D

I voted for "Sleuth But Sure", definitely. I always found it be the most memorable of the series (which, on the whole, was one of Paramount's best).

I've always liked "Mr. Money Gags". Favorite gag: "Now which shell is the little ball under?" "Under THIS one!"

I voted for "Winner By a Hare," although I never saw the UNCUT version. I heard it was a real "bang out" ending (excuse the pun).:p

It' is Pietro...It's very quick but very graphic suicide gag...just love it!!!
