Hey,

With the release of Spider-Man 3 (http://marvel.toonzone.net/spideytac/episode/spider-man3) on DVD (DVD talkback (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=200065)), I've had the chance to rewatch the movie a few times. Given how heavily the film is based upon The Alien Costume storyline, I noticed a few more nods/similar scenes the second time around.

How about you? Have you ever seen any nods/homages type incidents in the various Marvel movies from the cartoons?

Assuming they added the scene from the early trailers into the DVD (but this is Sony, so prob'ly not), when Peter looks in his reflection and sees Venom's face is a nod to the ending scene of TAC Part I.

The person who played the trucker in X-Men, was the voice actor of Beast from the Animated Series.

I thought Sandman's growth spurt at the end of Spider-Man 3 took a lot of inspiration from the climax of "Spider-Man Unmasked!" from Amazing Friends. Doctor Octopus knowing Peter Parker as an old acquaintance before becoming Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 was something first seen in "Doctor Octopus: Armed and Dangerous".

Betty Ross as a scientist as seen in both the 1982 and 1996 Incredible Hulk series was a career change also carried through to 2003's Hulk. Additionally, there's a case for the entirety of the live-action Blade franchise being based on his animated appearances in Spider-Man: TAS, as the character was pretty low-profile until then. Plus, his assistant Whistler first appeared in the animated series too, which supports this notion.

Personally I haven't noticed too many nods to the animated series because I don't think there have been that many. The only oens that come to mind are two already mentioned here, the one from X-Men and the one (which may not even be one) from Spider-Man 3. The rest could be chalked up to just coincidence.

Doctor Octopus knowing Peter Parker as an old acquaintance before becoming Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 was something first seen in "Doctor Octopus: Armed and Dangerous".

Very true. Dr. Octavius' ambitions to initiciate and sustain fusion from Spider-Man 2 was also first originally seen in Doctor Octopus: Armed and Dangerous.

There's a number of nods to the old 67 Spider-Man theme to be found in all 3 Spider-Man movies (the best one being the marching band playing the famous theme as Spider-Man accepts the key to the city in the third one).

Peter's improved fashion sense when wearing the symbiote from The Alien Costume managed to find it's way into the movie.

X2 features one of the students watching an episode of X-Men: The Animated Series in the middle of the night.

In the Daredevil movie, his origin is taken from the cartoon in which the last thing he sees is his Dad working for the mob rather than selflessly saving a blind man from walking in front of a truck.

A deleted scene from the Fantastic Four movie apprantly shows a H.E.R.B.I.E cameo.

Any more?
