It almost looks like the title said, "Don't Cross the Line".

EDIT: Hiro better not frickin' die.

Poor new girl.

Sylar sounds evil again. Does he not recall killing the Dr or is he faking it?

What is claire up to....

He isn't actually thinking of joining back up is he...

Best episode of the season imo. Mr. Bennet is just ridiculous but awesome. Sylar is saving the trainwreck that was the story of the Mexican twins. And Hiro's story looks to be leading to a crazy sword battle with Kensei. Can't wait for next week. Not a great preview for next week though imo.

also haha at MarineCorps calling Kensei Kenshin (dunno if it was a typo or on purpose but funny either way).

WThell is going on! 93% gone..holy __! While that seems to be the thing that will hook people in when it comes to next week's episode, given the title of the episode that's to air the week after that, I have a feeling that most of the focus on next week's episode will be given to the conclusion of the "Hiro in feudal Japan" storyline.

I'm just happy to see things finally start to seem to be moving towards something.

Peter's plot didn't get a lot of screen time to drag on and on and on. One second he's ready to go to Canada, next scene he's there and we get a pretty decent cliffhanger FINALLY.

Bennet finally gave me a scene with him that started letting me not know where he's going next, and HEY! It's generic Russian guy #7 from every movie ever! The Nate/Parker team up wasn't even brought up which I kinda like cause it seemed to be in order to tell a bigger story. Which is great because, of course, the two plotlines will end up being related to each other.

Mohinder told the Company to go screw themselves and ended up getting a homicidal split-personality she-hulk as a bodyguard to make him feel better. Yeah, cause that would put MY mind at ease....

Claire and West continue to do absolutely nothing to help the series. I swear this is just a re-telling of last season's beginning storyline with her only West isn't gay and can fly. Cheerleader that pisses Claire off, "outcast" boy knows her secret. They team up against her. Claire gets the respect of the squad. They all sing songs and ruin a girl's life and mental state because she was a brat. Daddy's doing things behind her back, she's doing things behind his back. This whole plot needs to come to an end, or West needs to know HRG is her dad, very very soon.

Hiro's plot continues to be the worst part of the entire show. Everything about feudal Japan story sucks. Kensei's a white guy. Ok? Hiro fell in love with Yaeko but history already records she ends up with Kensei. Hiro can't take her with him, or stay in the past forever, so doesn't that make this whole thing futile? (Hehe, feudal, futile.) Hiro left the present with everyone gaining powers and N.Y.C. about to go nuclear, isn't he the LEAST bit curious to see what the hell happened?

The last thing he saw was Sylar on the ground, him mentally getting thrown, and Peter about to explode and kill everyone. I'd be a little concerned as to what the outcome of that was rather than screwing up history (although, we already know that Hiro already did all this, it's one of those time-travel headaches)

Sylar DID keep the Wonder Twins' story interesting. She's willing to kill people now and let them stay dead. Was I the only one waiting for Alejandro to say "Oh, really?" in English after Sylar's speech?

I'm still angry that Micah left the room like 5 seconds before Monica met Suresh last episode. I'd like for them to meet up and Monica to find out a little more about last season's events. But like I said, other than that, an overall enjoyable episode. We're finally getting a "big picture", and 7 Mendez paintings, can't knock that.

Given the events of this episode and the title for the episode that airs in two weeks, this plotline has reached its climax and will probably be ending soon.

Finally, we know this season's overdue major plot arc. The best thing about this "virus" dilemma is that none of the heroes revealed so far have powers that could help at all against it.

And I disagree--Hiro's plot is the best. What exactly happens now? If Kensei is evil, there's only one way to salvage history and that's to kill him and finish the job he wouldn't. And no one can hurt him!

The worst way they could end this plot would be to have Kensei reform for the second time, then have Hiro leave feudal Japan thinking all will be well forever. C'mon, can you really trust him after THIS?

West is still a tool, but I like seeing bratty girls get theirs. Wish it hadn't been such a stereotypical bratty girl, though. She acted like she belonged on the Disney Channel. Minus the booze.

Even though there's a high chance it won't happen. I'm hoping Hiro brings someone from the past to the future.
A fish out of water side story would prove pretty interesting.
Or it could end up being cliche or stupid, if it doesn't work with the main plot.
Ah well.

Actually, I want to see that too, cliche or not. It'd be even better if said confused person had a power.

No Kristen "look at me, I'm the star" Bell.

Like that Hiro's arc is going somewhere, and getting interesting. Kensei knows his power. And he cannot be killed by conventional means.

I think at some point, Sylar is either going to be killed off or retired for a while. As Zach Quinto has the Star Trek prequel to work in (playing Spock), and that's going to take up a lot of his time.

With regards to the last scene of NYC. It has to be the virus Suresh was concerned about. It crossed over to regular humans.

And I was very annoyed at the scene with Sylar and Alejandro. I don't speak spanish. But, I am sure if someone said the word sister, killed, etc I would figure out they what they were saying. I also hope Sylar dies soon. His character served his purpose in season one.

Ah well. You know, that could possibly work, and given how an E! Online blog mentioned how Kensei will actually appear in the present, with his power being Wolverine-like, as it allows him to live to be over 400 years old, it could be interesting if Yaeko is the one that Hiro brings into the future.

No lie, it's apparent Alejandro doesn't trust Sylar anyway, although he couldn't understand him, Alejandro knows he is bad news. Somehow I wonder if somewhere down the line Alejandro figures Suresh is dead by picking up the English language in secret and somehow figures out the whole save us ploy by Sylar aka Gabriel is crappola.

Looks like my theory on Kensei turning evil and being the main bad guy in the present might turn out to be true.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Alejandro did understand some English and now knows exactly what Sylar is? I used to work in a township that has a large population of Mexican immigrants, most of them illegal, and it's standard operating procedure for them to pretend that they know less English than they actually do.

Speaking of Sylar, I hope the first person he meets when he gets his powers back is West. With each passing episode, he gets nastier, and you'd think Claire would have noticed it by now, but apparently, she doesn't learn from her mistakes.

I haven't got a clue where the Hiro/Kansei storyline is going, but at least he doesn't have to play Cyrano anymore, and it would be cool if the nerd gets the girl in the end (it would make a nice counterpoint to the creepy West/Claire angle). And it would be interesting to see how a Hiro/Kansei fight would play out. The guy who can't be caught vs. the guy who can't be killed.

I can see why some say this show is still in a decline, and this episode isn't exactly one that would change you're mind on that. I mean it was decent but dosen't exactly fill me with hope for the future. Let's see why:

Ando, Hiro and Kensei: Ando's plot still has the slight "4th wall kind of gag" on them but without any more scrolls to go through what else will he be doing this season? Guess we'll find out in time. The only thing really interesting here was Kensei turning over to Whitebeard's team at the end and knocking out Hiro. In truth I was pretty uninterested with "destroy the guns/Hiro and Yaeko romance, blah blah" stuff they've had but at least Kensei going rouge should at least make things more interesting, though I'm hoping Hiro gets out of the past and back to present fairly soon since he's better there then he is here.

West and Claire: This was a decent twist to the whole "get back at the mean school girl" angle with Claire and west discrediting the cheerleading captain. Still much prefered how she handled the football captain last season ("try and rape me= getting you and your car smashed in") but I still think the west/Claire relationship is okay. At least compared to some of other forced romances in this season (I know the writers wanted to amp up on the romance this year, but really it's attempts make me think they're better off just staying away from it as much as possible).

Surresh, Monica, Bob and... Nikki?: I'm not sure if it's an attempt at trying to make Bob or one attempt at the company look more sympathetic or a way of screwing over Mohinder again, but it's actually one of the stronger plots this time around. I do like Surresh and Monica bonding in a way and Mohinder not giving the drug to her, and even Nikki becoming Surresh's new partner at the end (hey beats his last "partner" Sylar right?). I guess to make up for not interating at all in season one we'll be seeing these two together (which also seems like a way of getting Nikki back into the main plot) which will hopefully be interesting.

Alenjadro, Maya and Sylar: Pretty much a meh one this time around. The more I see Alendjardo and Maya the more they seem like a poor mixed up of the Wonder Twins, Jin & Sun and Boone & Shannon of Lost. I guess Maya's suppose to be too forgivingly religious to try and actually see Sylar for what he is, but the whole "Sylar reveals his plans and Alenderjo is suspicious of him" thing could of been handled in half the scenes they gave it here. Oh well maybe something more will happen now that they're in America but it better be something worth our time.

Noa and The Haitian: Even though he's on the "good" side I guess Noa's way of obtaining information and dealing with people is still pretty harsh. Guess he hasn't developed enough to change that part of himself. Then again at least he's actually getting somewhere, getting info from the guy and obtaining all the paintings. Just what does it mean though? Probably won't find out till the season starts ending but it dosen't look good whatever it is.

Peter and Catalin: The shortest this time around. At first it looked like they're adventure would produce nothing, until Peter finally used Hiro's power (I think the only power of a person he's been around but hasn't really used) to see the future. Okay Evacuation is different then explosion but really haven't they already been there and done that with a prophecy of doom? Can't they go somewhere different for the end of the season? Repeating yourselves aren't healthy guys and I'm sure you're smart enough to know that.

Overall some weaker stuff then I would of wanted. I mean still added up as watchable but Heroes should be more then that.

Almost forgot about last week's teaser that Mr. Bennet fires a gun at someone. So that scene nearly took me by surprise - the Company's so bad he'll kill to cover his tracks? Seems reasonable enough.

We knew it was coming... Hiro screwing with the time stream in a bad way. He was tempting fate by not going home when he should have. Now who knows what'll happen?

I, too, still not really digging the Claire-West tandem/storyline. Still... the whole bit staging Claire's murder was worth a scream or two... of cheers!

And finally... a worthwhile cliffhanger ending this season! Peter and Caitlyn go from Montreal to NYC, a few months later in time, to find it desolate? Now my interest is peaked. Where are we going with this one, guys?

"The Line": 4/5.
