I know this isn't animated related.
I was thinking of the success of Smallville, and I started thinking what would happen if WB or CW as it is now called did a series based on the travels of Bruce Wayne before he bacame Batman. We could see him learn how to be the treat detective, and how he learned all those fighing and descuise styles.
He might even run into some of his future villians lice Crane and Nigmna, and Tetch. His only constant companion would of Course be Alfred. He could even have a few little Romances that fail do to his obsessioun for his crusade.
A show doesn
t neccisarily need one location to make it popular. The Incredible Hulk series of the late 70 early 80's was proof of that.
Just can't think of a tile that would not be corn ball. Obviously Wayne has to be in the title since there is no Batman at this point.
The only real difficulty I see, is getting a credible story arch to underley the training. Loke sone world conspiracy or somehting like that. Maybe Ras' or Savage.
