View Full Version : Just Got My Wii!

...And I'm really enjoying it! From the game that came with it (Wii Sports), Tennis and Bowling are my favorites, and I'm just starting to get the hang of Baseball, just because I like to see which of the many Miis I've made will be on my Home Team.
Just a couple of questions. In Wii Baseball, how to I get "Visiting Team" to "walk" me? Any pointers?
Also, since the Wii also plays Game Cube games, which GC games would be good?
Any game recommendations for Wii?

we don't need another recommendation thread. go here (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=199149) for that
as far as the baseball game goes, don't swing at balls that are outside the plate. i don't think there's a way to "make" the computer walk you

In Wii Baseball, I don't you don't get to walk. It's just how the CPU sets up the game. Like from pitching to hitting.

Congratulations! Even FINDING a Wii is a massive victory in itself. Take care of your Wii and cherish it!

Congratulations! Even FINDING a Wii is a massive victory in itself. You know, I keep hearing this, but here in Michigan there are always at least three or four Wiis on the shelf at Wal-Mart at any given time. Are they really that hard to find still elsewhere in the country?

Target, Walmart, and Best Buy; I have seen at least one in all of these recently, where before there was none...

I've been seeing them a little more frequently as well. They still aren't abundant at all times, but I think the people who talk about scarcity are beginning to do so more out of habit than anything else.
All I can say is, "It's about time it started to turn around. The dang thing has been out for almost a year now."

And all I can say is, "Christmas is a little over 2 months away. Any stock on shelves ain't gonna last long."

Now that you got your Wii. You indeed need to take care of it. And at all times wear the strap. This keeps you from accidentally flinging the Wii-Remote. And you definitely wouldn't want to do that.

Sound advice, but you could just as easily go without wearing the strap so long as you don't swing the Remote like some sort of crazed animal. If people had just exercised a little common sense in the first place, there wouldn't have been all the business with the thickened wrist straps.

Indeed.
I bought my Wii on the launch day and still have the original thin strap that came with it. It has yet to break or fly out of my hand.

I used the strap for the first week of owning my Wii, and haven't used it since.
I don't do anything nuts or crazy with my Wiimote.

You hear that? AT ALL TIMES. That means during bathroom breaks, visits to the kitchen, while sleeping, at work....
Seriously, though, between myself and the two other people I know IRL with Wiis, I have never once witnessed a Wiimote "flung" or even dropped. Unless you play Wii drunk in a baby pool full of KY, you're probably okay. (-:

i've had it happen a couple of times to my friends who rarely play video games, especially the ladies. they don't realize that during wiitennis there is no need to swing your arm like a maniac when hitting the speed shots. just a flick of the rest will do. same with baseball. although, during tennis, a full swing of the arm with some curvature does make for some pretty awesome spins
