According to the commentary, Oa was suppose to be destroyed by the Thanagarians in Starcrossed. Has anymore detail been mentioned concerning that?
I'm guessing that it was suppose to be destroyed along with Earth to stop the Gordanians or it was meant a the sole sacrificial lamb.
Oa? destruido por los thanagarianos!?? WTF!?

It sounded like it was just a story detail they tossed around when Starcrossed was in the early stages of production. Since it doesn't appear to have made it much further along than that, I doubt if they would have too much in the way of details for it beyond a few discarded writer's notes.

If anything it was going to be destroyed because the Lantern Corp had a presence on Earth. If Earth came under attack, the Thanagarians knew that the Corps would come and would likely cause trouble.
Oa appears in JLU as well.

I'm glad this story wasn't done. According to "Starcrossed," Earth was susceptible because its main defenses relied on 7 individuals, and one of helped take the other 6 off guard or exploited their weaknesses. It would be a tougher task to elaborate how the entire Green Lantern Corps could be defeated by an army which really wasn't that powerful without chicanery.

Interesting how in the JL universe there were "only" 7 heroes while in JLU they became...well...unlimited...
I always wondered how they would handle that on JLU and the events of Starcrossed but Vigilante and Vixen sure sort of explained us that on Hunters Moon

It's like "The Joining" in The Batman; there were lots of different fights raging around the world, but we were only focused on the story behind the group responsible for the victory.
Off-topic: Most people seem to consider "The Joining" superior to "Secret Origins"; I kinda agree, but in retrospect, I think people were just overhyped about season 4 of TB (the love was justified for "A Matter of Family" and "Seconds", though).

But when you think about it, very few of the JLU members actually wind up being nearly as indispensible as the big 7. Except maybe Supergirl. So would it have mattered that much?
