Shakespeare's Richard III

Come on, examine the evidence... The guy murders the king to get his brother on the throne, then instigates his death and engineers the arrest and assassination of his other brother, takes the throne, seduces the widow of the first kings son (whom he also murdered) at the poor guys funeral, has his brother-in-law assassinated along with his two nephews (to prevent their taking the throne), kills his wife and attempts to marry the daughter of his murdered brothers widow... And that's just for starters! Blimey, this guy makes Doctor Doom look like Mary Poppins!

Although, having said that, Doctor Doom is fairly cool as well! :D

Shakespeare's Richard III

I'm glad you've referred to Shakespeare's Richard III. Just as historical reference, Richard was meant to have been a kind man. His rather distasteful depiction from Shakespeare rather sycophatic grovels to the Tudors - Queen Elizabeth I think who was a direct relation to Richard's sucessor Henry VII (and by sucessor, I refer in the way that he left England to rally foreign forces against Richard and won). His right to the throne was highly dubious!

If anyone should have been depicted in such a light it should have been Henry VII who is more likely to be the man who killed Richard's nephews and who definately had Richard's dead body slung on a cart and paraded about local towns for all to see....
