View Full Version : Monster Hunter 3 Cancelled for PS3, moved to the Wii

Due to high development costs, the next sequel to the Monster Hunter franchise has been canned for the PS3 and is instead now being developed for the Wii.

I know of quite a few people that were big fans of this series, and had considered getting a PS3 to play this.

I enjoyed the earlier incarnations, but I'm concerned over how much online support we can expect to carry over onto the Wii.

It would seem like voice chat would be a must for a game like that, and they'd definitely have to do away with friend codes.

Of all the lost exclusives the ps3 lost, this one dissapoints me the worst, i was really looking forward to a true next-gen monster hunter. Here's hoping to a future port or a MH4 on 360/ps3 :sad:

Um, why even rant when M.H 3 hasn't been fully brought to the Wii surface. And that more screenshots and news are revealed?

Ever heard the saying; "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? Well, the same should be for this game. Why don't you wait a while and see what comes up for this new sequel.

I know, but i was having dreams of MH3 With Afrika like graphics and physics. Dont get me wrong im not hating on the wii i have one myself along with a ps3 and xbox hopefully this christmas, but to me MH3 will be more like MH Freedom on the ps2 with better graphics. I dont blame capcom though... they're just going where the money is.

Monster hunter, now with Miis and friend codes!!!

Not that I've ever played one, so this doesn't really effect me.

Never really "beat" the first one, so yeah, it needs not so much graphics, and more of the online community stuff. Which it was really lacking in the first version for PSP.

This was a wise decision. If they want to later, when and if the PS3 gets on its feet, then make a MH4. Something to toss into that weird Online Utopian Society they started building for the system.
