I just got Final Fantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions and I gotta say I've never played a game like this. I mean sure I have known of turn based RPGs for a while now but never really played them because I feel they might be too hard to play
I was wondering just how hard and complicated to play are games like this

Eh, if you can sit through any Fire Emblem title, you'll do fine here. Unless you're a completist like me and can't stand to let a single character die, thus forcing yourself to restart the level each time someone does.

Advance Wars is a good example of a somewhat simpler turn-based strategy. Some older titles, like the Shining Force series, aren't that much more complicated than a standard RPG. Disgaea, or similar games by Nippon Ichi can get really challenging, but a simple playthrough is entirely possible. I don't know where I'd place FF:Tactics Advance... it was fun, but the menus and slow-pacing felt tedious.
I've never played the original FF:Tactics or the War of the Lions remake, though. If that's too much for you, but you're still interested in turn-based strategy, yeah, try Advance Wars.

Strategy Rpg's really isn't hard at all. All has some sort of things that can give you an advantage. The only thing that can turn people off Srpg's is that you have to devote a lot of time to beat and even more time to fully beat it (get 100%, like for example level everyone to 9999 well only for Nis srpg's).

This came out? Gamestop didn't have it for some reason. I was a little bummed. I too am looking to give the turn based RPGs a try and wanted to start with this. I'm kinda tempted to go with Jean D'Arc, though, as it's cheaper and seems to be getting similar (if not better) reviews.
What's the difference in turn based and strategy RPGs?

To put it simpler;
SRPGs in a sense are basically Turn-based RPGs.
In SRPGs
You have Move, Attack, Item
Move
- You can only move certain squares that are presented to you (marked with blue squares). Some may intrude enemy space. That's where the next command comes.
Attack
- Your range of attack needs to match the enemies (you don't necessarily need to be next to the enemy). Just close enough that your attack hits them.
Item and Summon are done in a similar way to Attack. For items, you just need to be near your comrades to heal them.
For Normal Turn-based RPGs
You just have Attack (in FFVIII, press < for their Limit Break). Items and Spells (press > for Defend, < for Rows), it's more of a click and use feature. Where you select the target/comrade and perform that action. There's no need to place your characters on a certain spot of the battlefield.

I think the difference is that in turn-based RPGS only one character can act at a time. All the other characters remain still.
In Strategy RPGS, there are no turn restrictions and characters can act at any time. You can move your character during battle. Action does seem sometimes difficult to control.
And while we're on the subject of this I wanted to say that I've just started playing Final Fantasy XII and I although I'm enjoying it I was a little disappointed that they changed the battle system from Turn-Based to Strategy. I felt like I was playing Kingdom Hearts instead. Does anyone know if XIII is gonna be this way or is it going back to how it was before? I'm hoping for the latter.

FFXIII, we still don't have info on how the battles'll be played out. Whether it'll be turnbased or action. Though you should know KCJ is that XIII will do away with the XII battle system. No Final Fantasy sequel's battle system will ever be the same.
FF Versus XIII. It's more of a hack and slash battlesystem (think Kingdom Hearts, The Legend of Zelda, .hack//G.U etc...).
