Ugh. I can't seem to escape the torment of this garbage and total waste of money (in my opinion) and still get a little decency around Nick anymore.
Oy, too bad it won't bomb in the ratings, all thanx to the blind kids of this generation. Besides, Nick is already planning ways to get more unbearable money with a sweepstakes, their own spin on the Olympics and a live show. (YUCK!) At least they don't have toys at Burger King or some kind of Hostess promotion, 'cause that would only make things worse.

I haven't watched nick in years, I see no reason to break the boycott now. Let the station be for deaf and blind 3 year olds, they need entertainment too.

What the heck is this "Rocket Power" TV show? I don't know anything about it... anything at ALL. Heck, I didn't even know that Nickelodeon still existed!
I did see a commercial for Rocket Power the other day... I thought it was a Rugrats special or something until they said "Rocket Power"!
So, what the heck is this TV show about, and why is it so bad??? The curiosity is killing me! Tell me, Mr. Piccolo! :D

It's what I call "Nickelodeon's Walking Sports Advertisment."
Actually, it's this really lame show created by Arlene Klasky, featuring four really annoying kids who surf and ride on skateboards all day. There's also this really annoying five-year girl on the show too that's ten times as annoying as the four main character kids. They also use the word "lameo" (is that how you spell it?) too much.

They use...nay, make up their own [yevon]damn slang!
The show is super-annoying, chock-full of 'you can do it' and 'believe in yourself' messages. All the characters who express any hint of intelligence are nerds, and the whole show revolves around skate-boarding and being 'extreme'. [Yevon]dammit. My eyes bleed everytime I see a klasky cartoon. GIVE ME BACK MY ZIM, YA BASTARDS!
So yeah, this show REALLY sucks.

Dave, one of my friends form Yesterdayland, says this about RP:
Aack! Rocket Power is the worst thing to date!
If you like kids hurting them selfs on skateboards, lame-o worn out buzz words, and reused Hey Arnold scripts, watch this waste of pen and ink!
I agree with him, as that is how he describes the awfulness of the show in a nutshell.

Yes, I agree that crap like "Rocket Power", "As Told By Ginger", and "The Rugrats" (and it's two upcoming spinoffs, "Preschool Daze" and "All Growed Up") aren't worth the film that they are printed on. And yes, I also agree that the treatment of intelligent shows like "Invader Zim" (cancelled) and "Pelswick" ("mysteriously disappeared") are criminal. But still, I have to disagree with the "reused Hey Arnold scripts" comment. "Hey Arnold" is the last well-writtem, funny, and just generally likable show left. Granted, sometimes that show is so sweet that it could cause tooth decay, and Mr. Simmons is annoying, but the good outweighs the bad. What other non-Warner Brothers kids show could parody such films as "The Godfather", "Seaching For Bobby Fischer", and "On The Waterfront" and get away with it? It's gonna be a shame when it finally dies. (Upcoming "Arnold" projects were canned due to the "Craig Bartlett/Cartoon Network fiasco". So needless to say, second Arnold movie isn't coming anytime soon.) Sorry to gripe, but I'm a fan. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Umm... I hate to ask another question, but... what the heck is "Zim"?
At least I now know about "Rocket Power". It did look like it was animated "Rugrats"-style, and now I know why.
Oh well. Nickelodeon is responding to their demographic's demands, and we're obviously not in their demographic. More power to them.
