Though I do like the third opening, I was never fan a fan of the fifth ending. I much prefer the 6th ("My Pace") to the 5th. The fifth is probably one of my least favorite Bleach endings actually. Still I would like to see it get full ending treatment since OP got the same but I have a feeling like all AS shows when the ending reaches the 90 second mark it automtically gets snipped. We'll see though next week

Though still I doubt the people who HAVEN'T seen past episode 52 are still going to be pissed off where they leave on. Seriously not a good move ending there dub team, 52 episode rule or not.

Yes, but I believe on the Japanese DVDs the episodes are separate as well. So it's not like Viz will be editing anything.

Can this show move any slower? Seriously, they spent the whole episode building up to the fight and then showed about a minute of it.

Well, I agree, this eppy did move slow like usual, but for once, it felt like it was actually building to something. We have not one, but several gatherings of people getting ready for the showdows that we have been waiting for. We get a little snippit of Ichigo getting ready to come out of that stupid cave (and if it weren't cliche, we would wonder if he was going to reach bonkai), the battle with Kenny and the two Captains look like it could be cool, at least alot cooler than the Lieutinant fight will be, but still. we even caught a little snippit of backstory with the Captain with the pot on his head (and not a full wasted eppy either).
Now on for the bad. this felt like it should have been an hour, with all the buildup, and just a snack of what is coming. and then there is this stupid break that is coming. Now I know nothing of Death Note, and I am actually thankful I learned of this a few weeks ago (thanks to the board) because if i had just tuned in one week and didn't see bleach, I would have been one postal anime freak in the streets of the midwest. So, we get a new show in a few weeks (2, right?), but my questions is when are we going to get to resume this? I know, i should probably ask this next week, and I probably will, so pardon me now, because this irks me something fierce.

52 is a horrible place for a break. We're only about 10 episodes from the end of the arc, and unless I'm mis-remembering its almost entirely action from here till then.

I Still thought Episode 50 was pretty good but yeah it's good to get back into the thick of things. We get a lot from the Captains this time around. In fact the only captains we're missing is Captain Commander Yamato (1st Squad), Unohara (4th Squad), Mayuri (12th Squad) and Ukitake (13th Squad). We see Gin's still up to something ominus and Matsumto and Hitsguraya are on his trail (in voiceless cameo roles for the most part). Soifon and her principals are more formerly introduced (along with that chip munching vice captain Omeada who I think is the squad to get the least screentime so far), Kyroaku also seems up to something that conflicts with the other captains interest most likley, Byuakuya's heading to the execution ring (and looking at a picture that you know is going to be important later), and most importantly Tousen and Komamuara go after Kenpachi, who gets the most action (along with his crew) in this episode: arguing over directions, busting out Ganju, Uryuu and Chad (though I'm still not a fan for the real japanese word play humor and the "he dosen't notice" "so I"m this" kind of humor) and then challenging the two captains and vice captains to a battle. We're really going to see how tough Kenpachi is captain wise this time around, as well as how tough Yumicha and Ikkau are (I mean really what other group would have non lieuntants try and take on lieuntants? None I can think of) and it's some good stuff. So far though it's build up (along with Ichigo's scene and a sort of over the top Yourochi speech) but it's fairly good build up all the same. Though really I still feel the dub season shouldn't end with the next ep. I also feel that mentioning the spirit guide in the preview is kind of dumb if they don't dub those (and I doubt they'll even dup the "Golden Encolypedia" segments) but whatever. We'll at least see how those, the third intro and the fifth ending fare next time in a better ep.

I read/own the manga volumes(currently up to 21).....that helps alot (if I can't remember someone's name/squad/rank,I can look it up)...

I loved all the scenes with Squad 11....

yet another example of Yachiru's lousy sense of direction (and she spits on Ikkaku and later bites his head for pointing it out)...

Thats pretty much my guess as well. I think they might do some weeknight primeres of Bleach like they did with Inuyasha during it run. Then put it back on the weekends, then continue back and forth until the series finishes all together.

Yachiru basically makes this episode with all her actions and her so-called rivalry/jealousy with Orihime. She's so adorably funny. :p Topped off with Zaraki being the cocky SOB in wanting to take on those two captains and their lieutenants all at the same time so he won't be bored... that makes him such a joy to watch too.

Only downside to this episode? Rukia's execution is hours, maybe even minutes away, and Ichigo still hasn't achieved Bankai yet. Uh oh.
