View Full Version : "WWE No Mercy" 2007 Prediction Thread

Make your picks for No Mercy now. Predictions must be made by 8 p.m. ET on Sunday and cannot be edited after that time.
No Mercy only has 5 matches where a clear winner can be picked, so everyone's total will be out of 5. You can't predict a match when you don't know who is in it.
World Heavyweight Championship - Punjabi Prison Match
Champion Batista vs. The Great Khali with Runjin Singh
ECW World Title
Champion CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V with Matt Striker
Triple H vs. Umaga
Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay
Women's Championship
Champion Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Please remember this thread encompasses anything to do with predictions. Should you feel the need to tally up your score, "challenge" people, or tell the story of the "match for the championship" that is going to fit in here, not the talkback thread for the event which will of course be posted Sunday.

-CM Punk finds a way to bring down Big Daddy V and retain his ECW championship belt.
-Triple H destroys Umaga.
-Rey Mysterio makes Finlay pay for the beatings he's received over the last few weeks.
-Beth Phoenix ends Candice's run as champ.

1. I'll go with BATISTA.
2. I'll go with CM PUNK.
3. This is actually the toughest match in the card. I'm actually going to relcutantly go with TRIPLE H. Now that the title is a big question mark.
4. REY-REY wins.
5. BETH PHOENIX wins.

Women's title: Beth Phoenix over Candice Michelle. I went with Beth last time and lost. Hopefully, it's not 2 in a row.
ECW title: CM Punk over Big Daddy V. Striker ends up costing his man the match.
Rey Mysterio over Finlay. I see something happening with Hornswoggle. See, someone clues him in on why he was stripped of the cruiser title, and it has everything to do with Vince & Finlay, so he turns on Finlay and helps Rey-Rey.
Batista over Khali. No way does a giant climb a cage to win.
Triple H over Umaga. Now, there's a chance that this could change, and let me tell you why.
Let's say that Vince decides to make this a 6-pack challenge for the title. Hunter & Umaga are joined by the following people:
Jeff Hardy
Randy Orton (who suddenly doesn't have an opponent)
Carlito
Chris Jericho
If that happens, Orton comes out of the scrum with the title.

And just for fun, because it's the only interesting thing coming out of this PPV, let's say Orton wins the title.

Batista No way they put the belt back on Khali.
ECW World Title
Champion CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V with Matt Striker
Punk I don't see them making Viscera a world champion even if it's ECW.
Triple H vs. Umaga
HHH Get suspended then get a PPV win over the biggest star on the active roster? I think not.
Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay
Finlay I'm confident enough in my other picks that I figure the bad guy has to win at least one (in addition to Orton hopefully).
Women's Championship
Champion Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Beth in the revolving door that is the Women's Title, it is now at the point in time where the challenger (Phoenix) wins. Then she feuds with the former champ (Candice) another two months, with it going either way if she gets the belt back.

World Heavyweight Championship - Punjabi Prison Match
Champion Batista vs. The Great Khali with Runjin Singh
Batista - He just got the belt back, plus, he's the "marquee" superstar on the Smackdown roster. The win would solidify his current reign and set the stage towards Survivor Series at the earliest, either against The Undertaker or Edge.
ECW World Title
Champion CM Punk vs. Big Daddy V with Matt Striker
BDV - ECW's been building him up as a monster heel for a while now, and, to my recollection, he's never been a world champ. He'll probably win setting up either a rematch at Cyber Sunday or a Fatal Four Way (with Punk, John Morrison and Wrestler TBD) at Survivor Series.
Triple H vs. Umaga
HHH - Nepotism (well, by marriage anyway) at its best. The only reason he wouldn't win is if he won the WWE title at the end of the night, not unlike the Wrestlemania when Bret Hart lost his first match but won the belt at night's end.
Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay
Mysterio - Just so they could end this storyline for good.
Women's Championship
Champion Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Michelle - Phoenix will probably do something stupid that could get herself disqualified.

TWE (Toonzone Wrestling Entertainment) Presents....
NO MERCY
Live from The TWE Arena, October 7th, 2007
TWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
VCXZX(C) VS Shakezola
TWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Jewelz(C) VS VCXZX
The world was shocked twice at Unforgiven. First, TWE Commisioner Kippy put the tag titles on the line in an over the top rope elimination contest, until it came down to the final two. Matt Hazuda overcame the odds to win the championship, but TWE Commisioner Kippy wasted no time exercising his rematch contract. Who will walk out the champs.
Also, bigddan11 came out and told the world why he had hated Spiek Mcdougal, but then he helped Spike eliminate the competition. Will this new image of the "Silent Stalker" remain in TWE, or is this part of a greater evil plan?
Meanwhile, TWE Commisioner Kippy has decided to introduce a new match at No Mercy to celebrate the baseball playoffs. The tag team division will all be in action, but they will be out of their norm as TWE hosts the first round of the first ever Singles Tag Team Two-out-of-three Pins Tournament. In the tournament, each tag team will face off in singles competition. The first tag team to get two pin falls will advance to the next round. Whoever wins the tournament will ultimately become the #1 contender's, unless the champs win the contest in which case the will get a tag championship match of their choice. Below are the first round match-ups:
Match 1- VCXZX vs. Majin Megabyte/ Match 2- Matt Hazuda vs. Spike Mcdougal/ W1 vs. W2 (if necessary)
3- Zero Signal vs. bigddan11/ 4- Jewelz vs. Deadman/ W3 vs. W4 (if necessary)
5- Kippy vs. Sub-Zero/ 6- Penguin vs. PTurkey/ W5 vs. W6 (if necessary)
7- Punisher vs. email2003/ 8- Shakezola vs. RedNinja84/ W7 vs. W8 (if necessary)
"Dan I'm glad that you're giving me my nickname back but I have done nothing to be forgiven for, if anything I should be forgiving you for being a pain in my ass for nearly two years. Which I'm not going to do.......yet. You wanna say you're changing your ways I'm not quite sure about that but I'll give you the benefit of a doubt but I'll tell you right now. Well, kidz, Chairman Wackjob has already made one big mistake.
He put the title on Orton to start the show, and he promptly lost it to HHH. Title #11, however, could be the shortest run of them all, because if I know Vince, he'll have Hunter put the title up against Umaga in the main event. We know Vince is nuttier than a bag of Snickers, but this is just wack.

IIRC, if a match results in a no-contest, it goes as a loss for us regardless of who we picked. IMPO, it's the same as a draw.
That having been said, I went 4-1. Mysterio-Finlay had a stupid finish (Hayes must've been 10 sheets to the wind when he wrote it), based on what I read.
Seems to me the WWE title is now being used to further the McMahon-Helmsley feud. Another bad move by Chairman Wackjob. Cleanup on aisle common sense please, STAT!:D

Just to clarify, draw is a legal pick (I've done it before although I don't recall if it's ever worked out) so officially, everyone gets Finlay-Mysterio wrong because no one made that pick. I'll grant it's the same difference, but it doesn't get thrown out.

4-1 here.
Singles Tag Team Two-out-of-three Pins Tournament
Match 1- (1) VCXZX vs. (8) Majin Megabyte
Majin Megabyte tried his best to show why he held all three titles at one time, but Matt Hazuda pulled his legs out from under him, and when Spike Mcdougal tried to protect his partner, VCXZX was able to trap Megabyte in the claw and force him to submit.
Match 2- (1) Matt Hazuda vs. (8) Spike Mcdougal
Spike seemed to own the advantage, but when Majin Megabyte nailed VCXZX with a chair outside the ring the ref awarded the match to Matt Hazuda allowing the champs to advance.
Match 3- (4) Zero Signal vs. (5) bigddan11
The match went back and forth as bigddan11 showed he wasn't limited to the mats and went for some high flying moves. Zero Signal did his best to counter the moves, but when Deadman began coming to the ring for his match a few minutes early, it allowed bigddan11 to nail Zero Signal with the Justice Cutter followed by the pin.
Match 4- (4) Jewelz vs. (5) Deadman
bigddan11 remained at ringside to support his tag partner, but Jewelz was attacked in the back and knocked unconscious. Seeing Jewelz unable to compete, the official had to award Deadman the match.
Match 5- (2) Kippy vs. (7) Frank Castle
Sub-Zero made his way to the ring, but before doing so he removed his mask and announced that the ice world had been thawed away, and with that thawing his true identity would be shown: Frank Castle. TWE Commisioner Kippy attacked Frank Castle before he could make it to the ring though and battered the newly thawed superstar. After throwing him into the ring, he covered him for the easy pin.
Match 6- (2) Penguin vs. (7) PTurkey
PTurkey continued his dominance from Unforgiven by dodging the Penguin's infamous body bomb. Seeing the Penguin down, PTurkey used the worm to advance to a tiebreaker match.
Match 7- (3) Punisher vs. (6) email2003
Punisher lived up to his name by punishing the cruserweight email2003 with every legal choke and kick imaginable.
Match 8- (3) James Bester vs. (6) RedNinja84
Shakezola asked everyone if they were ready to shake, rattle, and roll before revealing his true name was James Bester. The surprised RedNinja84 shocked James Bester with a few early chops and kicks, but in the end James Bester was able
Match 9- (2) Kippy vs. (7) PTurkey
PTurkey seemed to have the advantage, but a holoscreen of Penguin stalking Frank Castle distracted PTurkey and allowed Kippy to use a carefully hidden pair of brass knuxs on the challenger to advance his team to the second round.
At Cyber Sunday- Semi-Finals of the tournament
(1) VCXZX vs. (5) Deadman
(1) Matt Hazuda vs. (5) bigddan11
(2) Kippy vs. (3) Punisher
(2) Penguin vs. (3) James Bester
In the TWE Tag Team Championship, the kicks of PTurkey caught up with Kippy as he was nailed in the head by VCXZX. Penguin came in to try and save his partner, but Punisher and James Bester came out and attacked Penguin forcing the champs to be DQ'd. Since the title can't change hands on a DQ, VCXZX and Matt Hazuda remained champions.
Here are the TWE Tag Team Standings:
(C) The M and V Connection (VCXZX and Matt Hazuda) 30/42
1) Pimps of Inferno- Punisher & James Bester 30/42
2) R. I. P.- bigddan11 & Deadman 29/42

I fully agree with you Spike, but we all knew a sixth match for the WWE Championship would occur. I actually counted nine matches:
1) Randy Orton (C) vs. Triple H [I]- Triple H
2) Mr. Kennedy, Lance Cade (C), & Trevor Murdoch (C) vs. Jeff Hardy (C), Paul London, & Brian Kendrick- Kennedy, Cade, & Murdoch
I'd say that Mr. Kennedy is going to take up the feud with Jeff Hardy since they had him in this match instead of Shlton Benjamin.
3) CM Punk (C) vs. Big Daddy V- CM Punk via DQ
4) Triple H (C) vs. Umaga- Triple H
5) Matt Hardy (C) vs. MVP (C) in a pizza eating contest- Matt Hardy
6) Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay- no decision
7) Candice Michelle (C) vs. Beth Phoenix- Beth Phoenix
8) Batista (C) vs. Great Khali- Batista
Does anyone else notice that The Great Khali is now 0-2 in a match that he supposedly brought to the WWE, the Punjabi Prison.

I was reading the Wiki article when I posted that and the eating contest hadnt happened yet. I'm fine with the title match happening but from the sound of things they pulled this out of their asses at the last minute. It would have been easier to say that the title would be held up till the end of the night and there will be a Last Man Standing match, whoever wins in Umaga vs Triple H will face Orton later.

I had forgotten about that, but since Big Show lost that match, then I believe their original plan also had Khali losing that match, so I personally still consider him 0-2 in a match that he supposedly created.

4-1. How do I join TWE as a singles wrestler? Dan, can you just add me to the list of superstars? Thanks.
Look a little bit closer at what I have listed. It's a tag-team singles tournament in a best-of-three format.
As for how you get into singles matches, you can issue challenges in the monthly threads and see if they are accepted. For example, this month I said I would accept anyone who wished to face me in singles competition. No one did, so Spike could not put it on the TWE card. Not many people are involved in the singles storylines outside of the championships right now, which is why I decided to create this singles tag tournament. It keeps us from having the same boring matches over-and-over in the tag division.
For tag-teams, this topic (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=151754) used to be used for sign-ups but we haven't gotten any new teams in a long time. Maybe it's time to promote sign-ups again?
We got a complaint from the mods of that thread because it wasn't being used, so anyone wishing to join the TWE tag division merely needs to send me a PM with the name of their tag partner and a tag team name (if they wish to have one). The last new tag team was email2003 & RedNinja84, about six months ago. Anyone is welcome to join the tag division, but right now the only reason the tag division has so many matches is because we have only been having the two championship singles matches, and the TWE card looks sad with only three matches listed. If more people started participating in singles storylines, like me apologizing to Spike Mcdougal and seeing what happens next, then we would actually lower the number of tag matches. If you don't actually have someone in mind for a tag team partner and wish to join the tag division, send me a PM, and I'll end up rcruiting someone to be a partner. We have newbies coming in all the time, and since many of them don't know how to be in those divisions, they can easily be recruited (typically).

As bigddan exits the locker room of the latest PPV event, he is met with a chairshot to the face from Matt Hazuda. The camera fades to black as Matt points to him and walks off, bigddan on the floor as personnel rush to aide him.

Jewelz didn't show up to defend the Intercontinental Championship, which allowed VCXZX to win it for the first time. Boy Wonder and James Bester are the new co-number one contenders after failing to win the title this time only because of the tie-breaker.

The World Heavyweight Championship standings haven't changed much from last time. VCXZX is still the champion, James Bester is still the number one contender, and Boy Wonder remains right behind them. VCXZX now has all of the gold; will that still be true after Cyber Sunday?

Thanks again and be sure to return later this month to make your predictions for Cyber Sunday!
The Intercontinental Title Champion is decided by a calculating who has the highest percentage of correct guesses over the three most recent pay-per-views. The Heavyweight Title score awards points for correct guesses (no penalty for wrong guesses) for the six most recent pay-per-views. The points system for the heavyweight title is weighted such that more recent pay-per-views are worth more points.
