I had a great time running through it with some friends, but looking back on it... we played on normal and the overall experience was kinda flat.

I think the battlefield for HALO 3 is just so sprawling that it makes for a less cinematic feel and less dramatic. But the battles I've had in GoW co-op just have been overall a more focused and what felt like a stronger experience.

Campaign on this just left me feeling................... meh. Good time, but far from incredible time. I'd say what made the experience any level of awesome was the friends I played with and the laughs we made for ourselves than the battles constructed in HALO 3. What boss fights we had just fell kinda... flat and were without character and once we figured out how to take down a Scarab, anti-climatic.

What's your take on it?

There's your problem.

Seriously, Heroic for Solo, Legendary for co-op.

Easy and Normal are built for the Mr. Casual, one-game-a-year, Madden Guy.

Heroic and Legendary are totally different and makes you appreciate the levels and game more (except level 8!!)

Pretty much what peacebyanymeans said, but I'd extend that to any co-op game. Normal/Easy is just that, easy. Theres really no challenge to it.

I hear that might have been what my problem was on the 1Up Show and that the real game is on Heroic. Now that I blazed through it already, it's hard to take up again.

Still, on Heroic, is the difficulty just upped or do you get more cinematic battles? Better boss fights?

Eh, just take out the co-op in the title of the thread and leave it at Gears of War>Halo 3.

Either way, yeah, I enjoyed the co-op in Gears more. It's especially fun on insane mode, where the strategies with defeating boomers and the like forces you to become especially creative. And there's no insane wait to respawn either, if you go down it'll only take a second for your partner to find you and pick you up. That was especailly frustrating with Halo, sometimes either me or my friend would be waiting forever to respawn in the middle of a battle, thus increasing the chances the guy left alive will die and we'd be forced to start over. Though I will give Halo 3 the edge over sheer hilarious moments, such as pounding your partner with the gravity hammer or accidentally driving off a cliff, as opposed to seeing your partner explode in a gruesome awesomeness when rammed by a beserker in Gears.

You go on about how it is too easy...well yeah, on normal.

How about going through Legendary by yourself? THEN we shall see where your thoughts lie. And even then, go to Bungie.net and they have devised a list of what skulls to use in order to make the game even harder, so there.

The level, "Cortana" is ridiculously hard on Lengendary by yourself, especially with some of the skulls.

I personally think that the Halo 3 Co-Op blows GoW Co-Op out of the water.

For me, it's not just a matter of difficulty, but overall battlefield design. Where each battle in HALO 3 felt kinda..... spread out and thin, GoW's battles just felt more like being in the middle of and surviving an incredible action sequence.

Play Heroic or Legendary. Listen, battles ARE different. More guys, more enemies in strategic positions, longer battles, etc.

In Normal, if you clear out an area, that might be the end of the battle, on Heroic, however drop ships will come over and have more enemies. Turrets that weren't there in normal, are now suddenly there in heroic to counter close range attacks against enemy Wraiths. What might have been one or two jackals in the distance with carbines on normal, is suddenly 6 jackals with snipers on heroic and legendary.

The game is different. Like I said before, Heroic and Legendary make use out of the level design and encounters, that wouldn't be there otherwise in normal and easy modes.

Easy and Normal are so blah because they have to appeal to a mass audience. Heroic and Legendary are for real gamers.
