With how much we talk about avatars on this board I've been wondering something for a while now. For those of you who don't have an avatar (and have 10 posts) why is that? I'm just curious.

Because I don't know how! If someone would give me the crash course on this thread, I'd probably do it.

I tried once to download several pictures (one at a time, of course) into my profile, but even the smallest pictures would come up as too large. I kind of gave up at that point, and never invested the extra time to finish figuring out how to do it.

Besides, the avatar I'd choose right now is Rikku's famous pose from Final Fantasy X... but "Failure" already got that one.

And, I didn't know (until right now) that all you needed was 10 posts to put a picture up. I thought it was 100, or 500, or something like that...

I didn't know you need 10 posts to have an avator, no wonder I couldn't choose it

I get this one! :p Hi, um, just let me know what pic ya want, or if you have one in mind, and I can resize it.

I got your back, here's how to make an avatar (http://naraht.vectorstar.net/avatars/howto.html)

Nice naraht. But always remember to preserve the aspect ratio when resizing or else the picture may look ugly. Such as 75x75 pixels would meet the aspect ratio of 153x153 pixels but 75x75 wouldn't preserve aspect ratio if resizing from 153x150.

As soon as I get the chance (and choose a picture to resize!), I'd be happy to take y'all up on one of your offers. :) Thanks!

I'll get back to you. First I have to comb the Web for a picture I like. Does it matter what format it's in? Like .jpg, .gif, etc.? And are some types of pictures better choices than others?

Thanks for the help, what programs do you use to edit/crop the avators?

Ah..I thought you were saying that some of my avatars were warped...
Actually, on my graphics program, I have an option which locks in the proportions, so when I do have an uneven selection, I just scale down the largest side, and it does the rest...

=D

Gifworks.com (http://www.gifworks.com/) is pretty good at that

I scaled my down some I forget just how much. So it might look a little crappy.
