I've been reading how some people think that all (or most, which seems to be five so far) of the JL members should be in every episode, since the TV show is "Justice League".
Well, I have to disagree. I look forward to episodes that only have two, three, or four heroes in it. I enjoy the five and seven hero episodes, but it would be fun to see them split into smaller teams more often.
The two hero team-ups are a cool idea. Without the other five JL members around, we could directly see how the two heroes spotlighted interact with each other directly.
And, since "two's company, three's a crowd", it would be cool to see a few three hero team ups (again, without the other four JL members around), because any time you get three people together, one always ends up feeling like a 'third wheel'. It would be interesting to see how that works with the JL characters.
For example, here are some team-ups (without any of the other JL members present in these episodes at all) I'd like to see:
Two Heroes Only
----------------------
Green Lantern-Flash
Green Lanterns -- John Stewart & Kyle Rainer
Superman-Wonder Woman
Superman-Batman (paying repects and notstalgia to "World's Finest")
Hawkgirl-Wonder Woman
Batman-Flash (I can see the arguements now...)
Wonder Woman-Dr. Fate
Green Lantern-Green Arrow
Three Heroes Only
------------------------
Superman-Batman-Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman-Hawkgirl-Flash (we get to find out what happens when the ladies' patience wears thin...)
Martian Manhunter-Flash-Hawkgirl (we get to see how these three handle things when the "big four" are not around)
Four Heroes Only
----------------------
Hawkgirl-Wonder Woman-Supergirl-Batgirl (another "Girls' Night Out" style episode?)
Superman-Batman-Wonder Woman-Aquaman
Superman-Batman-Wonder Woman-Dr. Fate
...anyone else have any other team-up ideas? I'd love to hear them! (And I hope Bruce Timm reads this thread!!!)

Squall,
I couldn't agree more. Someone wrote recently that all seven could be brought together only for the really big stuff. BTW, I love your Wonder Woman-Hawkgirl-Flash team-up. Flash would really have to move fast if he scorned either of them....

Yeah, I like that idea too. :) A few ideas I've had for a while are:
Batman-Flash vs. The Clock King-The Shade
Wonder Woman-Dr. Fate vs. Hades
Batman-Dr. Fate vs. Etrigan (The Demon)
And I also love my Hawkgirl-Wonder Woman-Batgirl-Supergirl idea. It would be another "Girls' Night Out" episode! They could face Harley Quinn-Poison Ivy-Livewire-Cheetah, or some combination of female villians like that.
I'd also love to see Flash meet Batgirl and/or Supergirl. :) You KNOW Flash would try to make a move on those two.
And how about Batman-Robin-Batgirl-Nightwing? This two-parter could be a paying of respect to B:TAS (in the JL style!), and would be great nostalgia too. (I also guess this would technically be a 'one JL member' episode, but oh well. :) ) The plot could revolve around a big breakout at Arkham Asylum, and the Bat-gang having to re-catch them all. :)
So, you see? You could have some awesome episodes without all, or even most, of the JL members! And if Timm & Co. do this, they could easily get 3, 4, or 5 seasons out of JL! :) :) :)
What does everyone else think! Please write! :)

How about an episode based on that video game on CartoonNetwork.com? Have Lantern, Flash, Hawk Girl , and that Green Guy (forgot his name). Flash can do a cameo since he isn't used often in the game.

Yeah, I thought that Batman-Flash vs. Clock King-The Shade matchup, and the Batman-Dr. Fate vs. Etrigan (The Demon) matchup, were good ideas. :) Actually, I originally thought they would have been cool "The Batman/Superman Adventures" episodes (you know, to see Batman cross over on that show with someone other than Superman).
But now, they'd make great JL two-parters too! :)
I also think that, once JL reaches its 3rd and 4th Seasons, Timm & Co. could even start doing some stand-alone episodes and two-parter episodes that featured just one hero in it each.
Oh, and here's another "Two Heroes Only" matchup I forgot to list -- Hawkgirl-Hawkman!

I was thining, with the restriction of no MEN on Paradise Island it was odd that Diana did not call in Hawkgirl.
Then I said, hey, this would be a cool way to pull in some other DCU Women.
Batgirl & Supergirl come to mind right away. For a fifth, Zatanna.

I agree with Squall. I share similar views on my thread "JL Team Dynamics."

I'm so glad that a lot of people agree with me. :) Now, if only there was a way to get Bruce Timm to read this entire thread... :(
I do think that, once the JL splits into smaller teams more often, Timm & Co. could get a lot more good storylines (and thus episodes, which means they get to keep doing this for a job!) out of JL.
I would give 10 years off my life for a Girls' Night Out II, as well as another Superman-Batman teamup (with no other JL members) just for "old times sake"... :)
Heck, in later seasons of JL, they could even have background episodes (one or two-parters that explain such things as Apokolips vs. New Genesis, their origins, etc., Vandal Savage's back story, or other such back stories, etc.) that didn't really have any JL members at ALL (except as cameos). They could do like the B:TAS episode which actually was about Ra's Al Ghoul's son that lived in the "Wild West" of 1800s USA. [For the life of me I can't remember the name of that episode...] But you know what I mean. :)
