Could someone explain to me who Vandal Savage is, what he/she looks like, what his/her backstory is, and why everyone wants to see Vandal Savage on JL? I don't even know if Vandal Savage is a hero or villian.

When I hear "Vandal Savage", it sounds like a WWF wrestler to me. I see a guy in tights with long hair trying to body slam Superman or something...

Yep that's it! Vandal "Macho Man" Savage--beware the flying elbow! ;)

Seriously I don't remember much about him, when the episode was first announced there was something up around here somewhere.

Howdy all,

This is off the top of my head, but I'll probably do a google search later (<--- subtle hint) to find out more about him.

Vandal Savage was a Neanderthal who was bathed in outer-space radiation. Instead of giving him cancer and making all his hair fall out, this made him super-intelligent and immortal. He's lived for literally millions of years and has been Doing Evil throughout all human history. He's the original conspiracy theory bugaboo -- if anything bad has ever happened in history, you can bet that Vandal Savage was behind it somewhere. The sinking of Atlantis, the destruction of the Library of Alexandria, the Fall of the Roman Empire, the Crusades, both World Wars, the Cuban Missile Crisis, you oversleeping and missing the bus this morning -- all Vandal Savage's doing.

I'm being silly here, but VS is one of the heavy hitters in the DCU. If VS is involved in something, it's big, ugly, and has world-wide repercussions. Fitting for this season's finale of JL.

I'm sure that a Google search (like, say, the one you'll get if you go to http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22vandal+savage%22) will turn up more about him. That was another subtle hint, by the way =8^).

I've read a dozen comics with him in it, and I've loved them, but even I don't know enough of the specifics to even try my hand at replying to this topic. Nor do I have the time with class in a little less than an hour ;)

Here are a few helpful links though.

Those Who Ride the Lightning: Vandal Savage (http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/vandal.html)

Vandal Savage (http://www.execpc.com/~icicle/VANDALSAVAGE.html) & The Injustice Society of the World (http://www.execpc.com/~icicle/InjusticeSociety.html)

Who's Who?: Vandal Savage (http://omega.animefringe.com/riphunter/whoswhosavage.html)

Vandal Savage Profile (http://www.sigma.net/dclegends/v_and_v/savage.html)

If those don't help, let me know. I may be able to fill in some gaps.

I take my comments on Vandal Savage back. He sounds like a cool villian! He's out of Joker and Luthor's league, that's for sure!

I know I should have done a Google search :), but some of the people on this Message Board are just so knowledgeable, that I knew I could get the best explanations here. :)

Oooh... I've got an idea. What would happen if Darkseid decided to employ Vandal Savage to wreak some sort of havoc on Earth? Now that would be a battle royale teamup for the JL...
