I think that style would be great for a ghostrider series.Or maybe even a daredevil.I think that was the reason spiderman failed because it was not the right property

The fact that it was on a network that had no idea how to air it or advertise it properly might have had something to do with it.

There was nothing wrong with the property. Spider Man works in almost all styles because he's pretty much the most accessible hero from Marvel to get first get into. MTV are a bunch of clowns who can't do anything right, this is one of those occasions. And to a much lesser extent they couldnt use the rogues gallery( aside from Lizard and Elektro ) which lead to some lame storylines that involved lamer villains.

I loved the show and thought it was visually brilliant, but it could have been better. The network did drop the ball on it. The style of the show would really work for a Daredevil show, but I seriously doubt that it will ever happen.

Well that's all well in good, but that wasn't the question at hand now was it.

CG - whatever level - would work well with the likes of Surfer.
On a less Marvel-ous note, I've always thought this particular animation style would make a splendid Metroid adaptation, but I guess that's another topic.

I think a big problem with the "MTV Spider-Man" was the fact that it was on MTV. It aired in Canada on YTV and as far as I could tell it was a hit. The show stuck around for quite awhile on the network and was even brought back to tie into Spider-Man 3. As many people here have pointed out countless times the problem is really with MTV. If a show of this caliber and intent was put on another network I think it served a good chance of surviving for longer than it did.

As others have previously stated, Spider-Man's early demise had nothing to do with the way it was animated; it was due to MTV's simply having no idea what the frell they were doing.
They still don't to this day.

I will state for the record again that MTV delayed the Spider-Man series by 9 months, and never stated a reason why. It was supposed to debut in November 2002, to tie into the DVD release of the first movie. However, fans had to wait until July 2003 before the series finally debuted. Mainframe did the animation, and it wasn't close to their best work. Shoot, you really couldn't tell it was Mainframe because it wasn't done in the usual CGI format that fans of Reboot, Beast Wars, etc. are familiar with. That a Mainframe-produced Hot Wheels special debuted on Cartoon Network around the same time that Spidey made his MTV debut might explain the lengthy delay, too.
Worse, MTV set up Spidey to fail by programming the show to air at 10 pm (ET), aiming the show at teens and young adults. Perish forbid they'd bump their overplayed in-house trash for an icon. A glaring lack of advertising and promotion, as noted, was the final nail in the coffin.
Luckily, eps are available in VHS & DVD format.

..would have been interesting to get a Blade or Power Man/Iron Fist cgi styled series..
