Some of the best news in the past month, for sure. Samba de Amigo was a lot of fun when it came out, but the necessary add-ons (and cost) detracted from the experience a bit. Now with the Wii's technology, the monkey maraca madness meanders its maniacal mammalian motion masterpiece onto the Wii.

And yes, I love alliteration.

Hope they release Maracas with the game, yeah you could the the same with the wiimote and nunchuck but it wouldn't "feel" the same.

Is it just me, or is the Wii just really getting good games now?

SEGA and Nintendo giving the fans what they want????? What's going on here?!?!

This fit securely in the "So perfect it would never happen," category. :anime:

Now, what we really need is Shenmue 3.

Do you know where I can find some sailors?

No.

Do you know where I can find some sailors?

Yeah. That's a reason why Shenmue got rated to #2 as Filter's Worst Video Game.

A new version or just a port of the old Dreamcast game? Cause a port isn't that much to get excited about.

Nintendo Power confirms that it's a brand new title.

Me, I never got to play the original, so I'm excited to check it out. ^-^

(imitates Beauty from Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo)

WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!?

(normal voice)

Anyway, I figured this would happen sooner or later. I really think it would be more appropriate if they made maraca controllers for this. Further, I also hope it plays the same way.

A brand new game? I was actually kind of hoping for a port of both games (the original plus "Ver. 2000"). Ver. 2000 had a mode where you play like usual, but then "Pose-kun" comes out and you have to move the maracas in either a circle or back and forth. I this new game has that, plus I hope all of the original "cast" (plus Amigo's sister Amiga) returns for this game:

Amigo (the maraca playing monkey)
Amiga (his tambouring playing sister, introduced in Ver. 2000)
Linda (a "butterfly girl" who loves to dance)
Bingo and Bongo (two humans in bear costumes who play bongos)
Chumba and Wamba (it's a pun, get it? Anyway, they are two cheetahs; one plays mandolin, while the other plays conga drums)
Rio (a character of indeterminate species who carries a trumpet, but prefers to dance. Originally thought to be female, it turns out that "she" is actually a "he"...)

Also, as one other poster noted, you COULD play with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, but it wouldn't feel the same. That said, I again, really hope that they make maraca controllers for this game. They don't have to recreate the mat. Besides, the Wii sensor bar would pick them up.

Oh, yeah. Sorry for the Beauty impression earlier. You see, that was a non-sequitur (unless Shenmue has something to with sailors...).

I'd personally say just you.

Are they officially licensed products? Moreover, you can also use two Wii Remotes, so what does that mean for two "Wii Remote Maracas" (as opposed to the single "Nunchuk Maraca" displayed)?

Oh, and one more thing, an asterisk (*) indicates either covers or WaveMaster originals (Vamos a Carnaval represents the latter).

Now that I look more into this, there was nothing that said that those maracas are licensed by Sega. I should probably wait for more information.

...or Nintendo. Remember, it's Nintendo's system this game is being released on.
