I got the complete series of Josie and the Pussycats DVD last week, so I thought about last week.

Why haven't Archie's ever attempted to revive the comic book series since 1982? They had two specials in the 90's, but besides there hasn't been a regular Josie issue since 1982. I thought the concept could work in any time period, maybe update the style of music (like the 2001 live action film), but besides it is very timeless concept.

Archie and his friends are still going strong, I don't know why Josie couldn't at least try to be a comic book series today.

They were actually featured in Archie & Friends Comics in a manga style which didnt prove to be popular (even though manga Sabrina is very popular; i dont like both since i dont like manga) so they are going back to the original look so they will be making new stories

If so, that is good to hear. If I can make some suggestions on how to update it to today's audience, yet still remain true to the original, which Archie is able to do.

1) Create a rival band. Josie and the cats need a main musical nemisis, who is always in competition for record deals, concert spot, battle of the band competition. Alexandra is already a personal nemisi for Josie and at times internal nemesis for the whole band, I guess she could start her own band to rival them, but in the comics, she has no talent, there by wouldn't be a real threat. So creating a band with new characters would be the way to go.

2) Give Valerie some love. I haven't kept up with the comics storyline, but from what I hear, it is 6 characters, except for Valerie, within the 5 characters, they want to hook up with each other, and Valerie is left out in the cold.

3) Make Alan M. more interesting and likeable. Maybe it is just me, but I never found that character all that great, or even likeable. In the Alan / Josie/ Alex love triangle, he is suppose to be the hero of the love triangle, but at times, I root for Alex to win Josie's heart, and it is not suppose to be that way. And Josie is not the top girl I have in mind for Alex, I think Alex and Melody would be a couple I root for. Which brings me to:

4) Alexander and Melody, I really like them as a couple. Even though Alex can be a jerk at times, most of the that is from Josie rejection. I think he really liked Josie, unlike Alexandra lust for Josie's boyfriends, she just wanted them because they was Josie's boyfriend. Time for Alex to move on.
