Last Friday, 4Kids Entertainment held a conference call and of course, their main focus was on their newly acquired Fox Kids block, which they will program starting fall 2002.

4Kids Entertainment went into more detail regarding the block and some of the programs that will air on it. The block will not be called Fox Kids and will be renamed and announced at a later time. "Kinnikuman," which was previously announced as headed to the new block, is in development for 52 new episodes in Japan. 4Kids decided that "Kinnikuman," which aired 18 years ago in Japan, was too outdated for today's audiences and instead put the show back in development. They also are closing on a deal to bring the previously reported "Kirby" series to the block, which would also receive a total of 52 episodes for the fall. The live-action series, "Ultraman" will start with "Ultraman Tiga" and the next years continue with another "Ultraman" series, a la "Power Rangers."

4Kids is starting their own video distribution company and will distribute the fourth and fifth "Pokemon" movies without Warner Bros. They are also considering airing the new movies, in addition to the other released "Pokemon" movies on the yet unnamed Saturday block next season.

Finally, 4Kids is developing a new "Cabbage Patch Kids" Christmas special, which will air on FOX and will be sponsored by Toys "R" Us.

The other new series will likely be announced next month during the annual kid upfronts.
