So the Kirby anime IS coming to Fox Kids. Well, at least I have something to watch on Saturday mornings.

So will I.
BTW, would you like to see a "Zits" cartoon animated by Film Roman on Cartoon Network or the WB?

I didn't even know there was talks of a Zits: the Animated Series. I think the show would rock, but I would prefer if they used the character designs from the beginning strips.

Not very likely (speaking for myself)...

There isn't. I just wanted to know if you think it's an excellent idea. Sorry if I offended you, though.

Glad you think that way.
I also think it would rock.

I haven't heard anything about the quality of Kirby, but I'd try it out. I was always a fan of the Kirby games. Kinnikuman might be OK...but Cabbage Patch Kids? And if Ultraman is as much like Power Rangers as I'm afraid it is, I won't be interested.
If I actually wake up in time for Kirby, I'll be sure to watch that and see if I like it. I just hope that this stuff won't turn out to be more Pokemon.

Well, even if there is not a animated series, there is a Zits live-action movie in the works. Too bad it is being rewritten by a goof-ball that works on The Famous Jett Jackson: http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12941
I always wonder how franchises would turn out as animated cartoon series such as Jet Grind Radio, Penny Arcade, 8-Bit Theater etc.

Yaaay, Kirby :D :D :D
The Cabbage Patch thing would worry me a bit more if it wasn't just gonna be a Christmas Special (something along the lines of an animated series would).
And I definately support seeing a webcomic as a cartoon someday, though Sluggy Freelance, maybe PvP, would make the best candidates. As much as I'd love to see a Bob and George or 8-Bit Theatre cartoon, the fact that the characters are game sprites would kinda hinder things copyright-wise. Of course, if you just want a 'toon like 8Bit that has an RPG theme, there's always ADVENTURERS! or RPGLife, among others ;) :) :)

Does the this mean that the entire line-up will be altered? I am a fan of Digimon & Ripping Friends and would hate to see them go. So far 4Kids' goods don't sound too great. Tho Ultraman is preferable to Power Rangers (Ultraman is the OG). And I'd rather see Garbage Pail Kids than Cabbage Patch. Over & Out.

Yes, the entire Fox Kids line-up will be altered and renamed something other than Fox Kids.
All this action and not a peep out of ABC and UPN about what their plans are.
When do netweorks announce their Kids Lineups(assuming they have one)? May?

March - most at least.
Zits? They'll put anything on Fox--- even a show about blemishes.
KIDDING--- i've heard of this stuff before. Just had to crack a stupid joke.

Okkay, I'm uncertain about things here. The 4Kids shows, @ least some of them, will be going from KWB to Fox, which means WBA is back up & running. I could think of better stuff for them to do than Sc**by-D** & LT Babies, but that's neither here nor there. At the same time, Fox's contract with Saban is up, & Saban is now with D*sn*y, so does this mean that the Sabanized shows will be airing on ABC Saturday mornings? Maybe ABC Family? I'm no fan of Saban, but I'll even put up with their version of Transformers RID & the upcoming Transformers Armada. I just wanna know where to look for those series & when. Yes, I'm a hopeless Transformers fanboy.
Okay, let me answer a few of these questions...

Right now, both "Pokemon" and "Cubix" are returning to Kids' WB!, with "Yu-Gi-Oh!" likely returning and possiby going daily, too.

Actually, Saban was part of Fox Family Worldwide. Once Disney bought Fox Family Worldwide, they bought Saban and their library too. Saban has now folded into Buena Vista Television. Former Saban shows begin airing on ABC Family March 2 at 7:00 AM. They may move to ABC this fall, assuming ABC doesn't drop most of the block for a Saturday edition of "GMA."

Saban won't be involved in the next "Transformers" series. The new "Transformers" series, "Armada" will likely go to either Kids' WB! or Cartoon Network. "Armada" has a total of 52 episodes being animated in Japan to air in America until December 2003.

My Sat. AM ideas for 2002:
ABC:
8:00AM-9:00: Saturday Good Morning America, starting at 7:00 (As much as I hate to admit it, ABC will force us to accept this against our own free will.)
9:00: Recess
9:30: Lloyd in Space
10:00: Teamo Supemo
10:30: The New Adventures of the Gummi Bears
11:00: I dunno, maybe a new season of a 1 Sat. AM show, maybe a Zoog Disney Show, maybe a new property, maybe the return of Bugs Bunny, if WB will be fair.
11:30: A Revamping of "House of Mouse" about extreme sports and Mickey, Donald and Goofy. The threesome will be trapped in a video game and have to beat it to get out, which WILL NOT BE EASY! Don't worry, the female characters, like Minnie and Daisy, will still be main character, as they will try to find a way to get the their friends out without them having to beat the difficult game, and the Disney properties will still be on the show, only appearing in certain episodes.
12:00: The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (New Episodes)
12:30: Daisy Hill, a kid-sizing of Snoopy at the Daisy Hill puppy farm with his family. No offense, but I would rather see this than Disney Babies
Disclaimer: I DO NOT SUPPORT THE IDEA OF SAT. GMA OR ZOOG ON ABC! I JUST SAY THAT WILL HAPPEN BECAUSE ABC WILL THROW IT AT US AGAINST OUR FREE WILL! Perferably, I would like to see ABC air Saban properties like "Digimon" in the 11:00 time slot or in place of GMA.
Kids' WB: I think I would rather see The Bugs Bunny show back on free TV instead of Looney Tunes Babies.
UPN: A three hour block consisting of 1/3 reruns and 2/3 new Nicktoons. The reruns will consist of Spongebob Squarepants and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, while the New Nicktoons will be the Rugrats: All Growned Up spinoff, and new episodes of As Told by Ginger, Rocket Power and a revamped Fairly OddParents. These properties will air on UPN before airing on Nick the following Friday. For example, for the premiere, if it aired on UPN on 9/7/02, it will air on Nick on 9/13. Oddparents will be revamped as so:
1. Nelvana will now animate, with Nick out of the business, provided that they hire Butch Hartman, Fred Siebert, the animators and the writers, which is highly unlikely.
2. Timmy will be older, like in Jr. High or something.
Disagree if you must, but this is my personal opinion.
Only problem with your ABC suggestion
ABC is going to pick up NBA Inside stuff as part of it's Saturday lineup, so you have to include that in there.
Now riddle me this, but I was thinking. Back when NBC added Saved by the bell and its ratings went sky high they decided to dump their cartoon lineup in favor of Today and TNBC. I seriously wonder if ABC isn't mulling a similar feat with GMA and a "Zogg" like block revolving around Tween live action shows like Lizzie and Even Stevens. I know, I know, Disney dump cartoons entirely? But trust me, with problems at Disney, they have to make EVERY DAYPART on ABC work. No one can be slacking, not even the Cher makeup Infomercials at 3:00 AM in the morning. But if you say my idea is strange, then remeber that stranger things have happened. Like Fox owning UPN affilietes.

Actually, from what I've read, ABC would drop their kids block if it weren't required by the FCC. So, who knows what'll happen?

Where did you read that? I do remeber both Fox and NBC having said that they would have been gone from the kids race without the 3 hour rule, but some people felt that ABC would actually stick around becuase Parent company Disney's focus is on Kids. Don't know what CBS's view on the whole thing was though.

I could see ABC dropping out entirely - I mean look at their current schedule, the only thing even half decent there is Recess. Teamo Supremo is a waste of money on Disney's part and I don't want to see another company succumb to the evil that is Digimon. I think they either need to get out of the arena of SatAM or re-vamp it. I think the latter is the option they will persue, esp after they cancelled Team Atlantis - a show that could have been great and allowed them some killer ratings. Also any shows that they want to air they could probably do through UPN - seeing as how UPN is trying to fill in gaps in their line-up and already owns one Disney show - that being the fairly good Legends of Tarzan.
On the other hand I could see ABC Family competing for a SatAM slot as I already know that I'll be tunning in to see the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Spidey, X-Men block on Saturdays (then again I don't get WB so I'll just continue stealing my gf's VCR and taping Static Shock, JCA and X-Men Evolution :D).
For Fox's block I hope that 4 Kids brings over some good animated stuff. Kirby sounds like it could be interesting and I'm really hoping that the alleged DIC deal will happen, as I am quickly becoming a fan of Alienators: Evolution. Mayvbe DIC would also create a new series or two and bring back an old one (anyone here up for some new episodes of the seriously underrated Mummies Alive!). I wouldn't mind seeing a new Ghostbusters toon or something along that lines (I never got to see Extreme Ghostbusters so...) and I think RoboCop: Alpha Commando could be picked up relatively cheap and added to the block with better writing on the new episodes. I think that this would make Fox a lot more respectable than they currently are now. Here's a question - does the 4Kids deal also give them scheduling rights for the afternoon block?

The DIC deal is only for a half-hour of FCC friendly programming; that's all. I doubt you'll see any other series, but educational programming for that half-hour.

I didn't realize that this would only be for a half an hour of programming (I guess I was hoping for about 2 hours worth of stuff). Well is there any chance that the market is still open to syndication stuff or has this pretty much died off with the apparent lack of interest in animated series on non-cable television? If so, what are the odds of someone picking up a show like Evolution?
Also, what ever happened to the USA Cartoon Express? They had some great show for a long time - She-Ra, TMNT, Gargoyles and then Ultraforce. Do they still have the rights to air these and would they consider a new Cartoon Express or are they gone from the market for good?
-Joe!
