I can't believe how Atlantis underperformed...

Crap, I was hoping Atlantis would pull out at number 1. I love that movie! You couldn't pay me to go see Tomb Raider. I actually thought that one might bomb. There were so many stories about the post production and how the director turned in a REALLY BAD cut to the Paramount execs. They had to hire some A-Class editor to basically save the film. We had a test screening here Portland last month and the news that came out of it was that the movie was really bad. Eh, oh well.

Atlantis may have underperformed because of negative reviews, I don't know. I sure hope that it isn't beceause it didn't have enough stupid singing animals in it for the average movie goer! Yeah, I was surprised it didn't do better either, but oh well. Disney doesn't deserve to do well on this since it is all plagarized anyway.

For those concerned, the real Atlantis will be out next month on DVD. It's called Nadia (no news there!) and will be out on ADV Films. Got mine on pre order already.

900 Posts! Anyways, what are the specs on "Nadi"? I wonder if ATLANTIS will gross $100 now. Hmmm...is Disney becoming old?

Yeah, well, I would have like over 950 posts by now if Robotech hadn't been out at Best Buy last week!

All I know about the Nadia DVD is that it is 100 minutes, so it probably only has 5 episodes on it. I didn't see any listing of any bonus features.

Yes, I think Disney is old. Dreamworks could easilly steal their crown in the next few years, if they play their cards right.

Well, if there's a bright side, I have a feeling that Atlantis will have longer legs than Tomb Raider, from all the negative reviews I've been reading. At least, I hope so...

I think Atlantis will cross the now oh-so-important $100 mill mark. As more and more kids get out of school, the legs of the movie should remain for awhile. Also, I heard a rumor that the special edition 2 disc DVD set of Atlantis will have a cover that features the letter 'A" etched into a wall in Atlantean language.

Yeah Atlantis will make more money, I'm sure. But I guess we can't be suprised on how it's opening turned out. Live action, NON animated, movie with a beatutifull woman, or a Disney animated movie.

So, since we animation fans STILL haven't been heard yet, I'm not suprised at what choice they took. Don't worry. Let's just pull back out guns for now. We'll get em next time.

I still haven't seen Atlantis (I was supposed to go today, but someone had to get sick...), but Tomb Raider wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, it was a popcorn flick and was worth $5.

ATLANTIS is predicted to gross $14 mill this weekend. With SHREK and DR. DOOLITTLE 2 as competition, I wouldn't be suprised. Will it hit 100 mill, is the question.

You know, I STILL haven't seen Atlantis either. Pretty bad, eh? This coming week doesn't look too good for free time either, as I have to pick up extra shifts at my second job to help out during vacation period. Of course, after hearing about the similarities to Nadia, my interest waned ever so slightly, but I still would like to see it.
