Writing for a Variety Series is always the one where I'm rooting for three (Daily Show, Colbert Report, Late Night). The Colbert Report winning would end up being the funniest because of how they use it in the show, but I have to say I probably admire the Late Night writing staff the most because it's mostly comprised of great New York comedians that I love. I'm happy they won.

Using "The Freak'n FCC" as the BGM for the intro was cleaver, props to McFarlene for this intro...

When will they get to the animation awards soon...

When will they get to the animation awards soon...

I'm moderately sure that the animation awards are part of the Daytime Emmy Awards and as such aren't included here. The results are over in the animation forum.

I knew it was something like that. Point is, they aren't included in the primetime telecast, yes?

What a travesty. Heroes was the best show last year and it loses out to that tired Sopranos that wasn't even that good. I don't know why I bother watching this telecast every year

Here's the thing: I didn't want Heroes to win, but I believed it deserved it.

Explanation:

2005. Lost's first season gets the Drama Emmy.
2006. Lost's second season tanks.

2006. 24's fifth season gets the Drama Emmy.
2007. 24's sixth season tanks.

THE EMMY IS CURSED. They had to give it to Sopranos out of respect for the other contenders, because Sopranos is over. Its possibilities of dropping in quality are 0% from this point on. Hopefully this means Heroes is spared the decline in quality Lost and 24 experienced following their respective wins.

And I know this is a load of bull, but at this point I'm willing to accept anything so long as the good shows STAY GOOD for as long as possible.

Hmmm, you have a point there. As long as it doesn't turn into a show that doesn't get any respect like a Buffy or Angel. Although the fact that Heroes was nominated is a big accomplishment. But I've never been one for the "the show is going off the air, so we have to give it to them" idea if the final season was sub par.

Did anyone experience the camera glicthes during the broadcast?Yeah . . . "glitches."

I wonder what Ray Romano said to panic the Emmy producers. I know Katherine Heigl (not HeiGEL) threw an "s-bomb" just before they cut away from her quickly.

Overall, most of the people I rooted for lost, though, as one of the "dozens and dozens" of fans that watch 30 Rock, I am glad that show at least one Best Comedy.

And Lewis Black . . . damn, brother Black spoke the truth about those pointless interruptions, scrolling bars, etc. So true. So true.

Oh, and Nick News won the Outstanding Children's Program Emmy. That was the one Hannah Montana was nominated in.

According to Yahoo.com Ramono mae a joke that his TV wife was cheating on him and "f----ing" Kelsey Grammer now.

 "Scrubs" got the shaft AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I've officially accepted the fact that this show will never get formally recognized, even after the show ends. Just isn't fair.

Miley lost to Nick News, how un-respectful, no one watches Nick News, only parents and students who care about the news watch that...

As usual the Emmy's are a little bit behind. Piven and Heigl should have won two years ago, and The Colbert Report is far better than The Daily Show these days, but at least the criminally overrated Heroes had to go home empty-handed. It shouldn't even have been nominated in any of the major categories, which I expect will be corrected next year. Good win for 30 Rock. Not sure it's fully deserved, but it's a good little show.

By that logic, explain West Wing's defeat last year.West Wing got four consecutive Emmy awards up until the series started sucking post season 4. You could say it was a victim itself. (Though we all know the conspiracy that really caused the problem.)

Seriously, I don't think the Academy (or any of us for that matter) realized the curse was upon the award last year, as it had only happened to one show at that point.

Maybe this is like that Babe Ruth curse thing, and West Wing created it?
