I saw 3:10 to Yuma last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish we saw more Western movies being made, but at least the limited supply makes me truly appreciate those that do get made.

Hardly surprising for The Brave One given the level of advertising its been getting. I'm happy to see 3:10 hanging in there, though I imagine that New Line are unhappy campers; I thought that Shoot'Em Up would do much better than this, myself.

Larger grosses for the Top 4 than i woulda guesses

Resident Evil will slide past Chuck just barely, followed by brave one, the other major release sydney white and 3:10 to Yuma

Unfortunately, I don't see 3:10 becoming a big; I imagine that it'll be a modest success, though. I'd love to be wrong.

Mr. Woodock placed about 5 places higher than I expected. I guess people love Billy Bob playing his Bad Santa schtick, no matter what the premise.

Not much promise this weekend, what with the major releases being Popular Comedian in Ill-Fitting Romantic Comedy and Jesus, Does Milla Jovovich Need a New Agent or What?!

And what the hell?! Shoot 'em Up falling to 11th, where it'll be out-grossed by Mr. Woodcock. It's hard not to hate this country sometimes.

I don't expect Resident Evil to break the trend of modest 14 mil openings next weekend. The previous installment barely cracked 50 mil, and statistically the third installment does the worst.

I think Resident Evil will make a decent amount of movie and as for Sydney White, well don't see that in the Top 5 and as for Good Luck, Chuck, I'm betting it'll be Number 2.

You're probably right. I imagine that Resident Evil's business will be modest but unremarkable.

Also this Friday, the Transformers directors cut will be released in IMAX.

Won't be that big a threat to the other films being released, but expect it to hit the top 20 at least.

IMAX films, if promoted well, generally get high per-theater averages. The ridiculously high ticket prices must help.

Where did this "Dragon Wars" suddenly come from? I admit that I've barely been watching any broadcast TV all summer, but the first time I heard of this was when I opened today's Sunday newspaper and saw a print ad in the movie section.

Where did this "Dragon Wars" suddenly come from? Most of the threads about it here have referred to it under its original Korean title D-War. Don't worry, its just a bad ripoff of a bad ripoff (Reign of Fire)
