Here's the real catcher :
Fans of the Warner Bros. animated series will recognize many of the sights and sounds found in the PS2 game. The main cast in the game will include Superman, Clark Kent, Metallo, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Professor Hamilton, Angela Chen, and Maggie Sawyer, while some of the other villains will include the Interbots, Livewire, Parasite, Kanto, and Darkseid. The various characters will be voiced in the game by the voice talent used for the animated series, including Tim Daly, Clancy Brown, Malcom Macdowell, Lori Petty, and Michael York. In addition, any sound effects used in the series will be used in the game to stay as true to the cartoon as possible.

It sounds like an awesome game, and Tim Daly voicing it to boot! Now only if they'd multi-platoform it to the GC. :(

Very few companies develop for only one system anymore. Putting it one more than one system = bigger user base = more $$$.

Yeah I hope and bet it will come to Gamecube. I don't have a PS2 and I REALLY want this Superman game.

I'm sure it will be multi-platform. Mr. O. is right - that's just how things work these days. And you'll be able to fight Darkseid! Let's hope they get Mike Ironside!

I'm sooo glad I bought a PS2- as good as Gamecube and X-Box are, there are very few games that don't hit the PS2 is some way, shape or form, so it's a good system to have.
I'm really excited about this- if it's anything like Batman: Vengeance (and I hope it is) it will be sweet. I just love that they're using TAS voices. I can't wait! :)

I hope to god that it's not as bad as Superman 64.
I mean god Brainiac refering to him as "Superman" and not "Kal-El" as they do in the comic/animated series.
I mean it's minor, BUT AN INSULT NONE THE LESS

videogames.com just posted a hands-on preview of this one. Sounds very cool. Superman has some sort of "solar meter" that regulates his powers. (Hey, you can't make the game too easy.) I'd throw up a link but I'm feelin' lazy...

This sounds cool!!! Hopefully it will eventually make its way over to Gamecube, and hopefully it won't suck like the last one :D .

Can someone explain to me why Superman 64 is bad?

Just for perspective, the new James Bond game "Agent Under Fire," first came out for PS2, and after it did well it was announced for GC and X-Box. Hopefully we can expect the same for Superman.
Oh and welcome Eek. (I always really liked that cartoon) I hope you stay a while. :)

Who's going to make this game? I know Titius isn't doing it this time (I mean really, 75 hoops in one minute, or die?!? Please!) My only hope is that it's as good as Batman Vengence, or Spider-Man.

Yea!! I'm glad another S:TAS game is coming out. :D Superman 64 didn't do the show justice. :( Maybe I'll have a Plastatiion 2 by the time it comes out. :p

I haven't played it, but you can read reviews here (http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/products/0,11114,198862,00.html).

It's being made by Sheffield House, but I can't think of an action game they've made so there's not much to analyze to see if their Superman game will be good or not.
I wonder how they'll handle Parasite in this game. How did they do it in Superman 64? I know it's the worst example of how a game should be done, but I'm still curious.

This new SUPERMAN game is being made my UbiSoft, I believe. Based on what I've seen in BATMAN VENGEANCE, it should be good stuff.

If you read the story at the link Eek posted, this game is promising a lot more villains than Vengeance has. I hope the next Batman game *crosses fingers* does that too.

A 2nd Superman game: "The Man of Steel" on X-Box. Comic style.
