There has been a flood of "list threads" lately and it has come to my attention that some people are forgetting what is and is not allowed in these threads.
If you happen to start a 'list thread' please keep in mind that discussion is the key-- not just listing stuff for the sake of listing stuff.
You need to explain each and every one of your choices in the list. This involves including reasons why you made that particular choice.
This also applies if you reply to a list thread. PLEASE EXPLAIN why you made your picks.
DON'T:
My picks for cartoons with funny characters:
The Simpsons
Invader Zim
Batman The Series
Family Guy
Spongebob Squarepants
DO:
My picks for cartoons with funny characters:
The Simpsons: I picked the Simpsons because Bart and Homer are funny in their own right, but they are even funnier when they have conflicts with each other. Bart goes out of his way to anger Homer, and in turn-- Homer just gets funnier when he gets angrier.
Family Guy: I had to say Family Guy because Peter's plans backfire in the most absurd ways. He planned to fill a truck with Jet fuel and had a hilarious fantasy about his truck outflying fighter jets. It was one of the funniest scenes ever!
If list threads are started without following these rules, it will be closed. If an established thread ends up getting too many simple list replies, odds are, it will be closed, or the offending posts will be deleted.
PLEASE keep this in mind when posting. Thank you.
