Welcome to This Week in Comics for September 12, 2007 - September 18, 2007!

This is the place to discuss the comics you've bought this week, whether it be a brand new title or old back-issues. We also welcome and encourage talk about comics in general - news you've read on comic news sites, the state of the industry in general, upcoming issues you're excited about, etc. All we ask is that you please use spoiler brackets in the event that your comments get too detailed concerning a particular storyline. This way the book won't be ruined for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

For a list of the new items shipping this week, please consult Diamond Comics' Shipping List (http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_091207.txt).

To find a comic book store near you, check out the Comic Shop Locator Service (http://csls.diamondcomics.com/).

There's not a talkback thread for it, and I don't feel like starting one up, but I have to ask:

Did anybody catch this week's X-Factor? What exactly happened to Quicksilver in it? For some reason, I couldn't figure it out...it looked like he got hit by something. Was that sound affect that appeared by Layla "WAAMM!!!" or was it Quicksilver screaming out "WAANNDDAAA!!" or something?

I bought the first hardcover volume of Runaways. Loved it to death. Then bought the second hardcover. I'm about two issues away from finishing that off. I love it even more.

I can't believe I overlooked this thing.

I also grabbed Booster Gold #2. Never was a huge Booster fan, but I liked issue 1, and 2 was just as good, so I signed up for it monthly.

Jin,

This run for Booster does look quite promising. Certainly better than his appearances in JL Europe or which ever series featured him so prominently.

Anyone pick up this week's Trials of Shazam? I liked this idea of Atlas. A really cyberpunk-style god. Holding the world together one moment at a time.
