It's week thirteen of the Sci-Fi Channel's Ani-Monday block. This week, have a special airing of the original Ghost in the Shell movie. Watch the movie that started it all for the franchise. The dub is very good and was one of the best during the 90's.
Here is this week's schedule:
11:00: Ghost in the Shell(1996)

Since I already own GITS on DVD, I'll probably skip Ani-Monday this week, though I may check in here and there.

but!
I was looking around online and saw that MANGA Entertainment has the rights to 'Tactics!'
*fangirls*
So maybe once the other shows end, and a few more start, they'll get the chance to air this AWESOME piece of work.... because it really wonderful. (least I think so. *<333's Tactics* )

Here you go. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=196291) No one really knows what's coming on after that though.
Also, I've learned that School + Ani-Monday = Bad Day at School on Tuesday. So I'll record this one and drop some comments off later in the week.

Considering that Sam posted this in an earlier Ani-Monday thread, I'd assume no. Might be wrong, though.
So my TV Guide rates GitS as a 2.5/4 star movie, with Violence and Sex. Hmm...

You know, I'm so used to the TV series English cast, that it's a little bit jarring hearing a different voice for the Major.
I have this on DVD, so I won't be seeing this. But, I can say that I like SAC more than the movie, as well as that I prefer Mary Elizabeth as the Major over Mimi Woods (at least that's what the TV Guide on the digital cable box is saying, which gave it 3 stars out of 4).

Honestly, if they aren't using the SAC VAs, I'm not sure I'm that interested. Sure they might have Richard Epcar and "the Chief", William Knight, but other than that, no real Togusa or the Major. *agrees that Mary McGlynn is the real voice of the Major*

Damn Sci-fi, blur the whole G'damn movie, why don't you? D=Well atleast there's some comedic elements in it now. The Major's birth-scene during the opening credits was hilarious with all the censoring, like some bad informercial.

Eh, I would imagine if both episodes of Noein at midnight are always new episodes, that means they can get through the run much faster. Hence, Street Fighter could return in November with the remaining episodes. If that's the case, it seems strange that they'd take it off the schedule mid-run, though. They could simply have held off on Virus Buster Serge for a while and make the October/November schedule like this:
11-12: Noein
12-1: Street Fighter
D Dubbs
09-11-2007, 12:16 AM
If Street Fighter got pulled mid-run, it's probably not coming back.
But I do wonder what will become of Ani-Monday come mid-November. Both Noein and Virus Buster Serge will be finishing at that point.

I'm not surprised at the bluring, SciFi used to do this for nudity in a few MST3k Movies. Oh well, at least they didn't add in some extra effects for modesty. And no disco guns.
Wow, I'm amazed by the movie. It's artistic style and wonderful blending of CGI is great. And Mimi Woods as the Major almost sounds like the SAC version. It's just a great time watching it the first time.

I wonder when the updated the schedule? This makes me think SFIIV must have been doing quite poorly in the ratings. I've also read Noein wasn't doing as well as Tokko was (earlier this summer in a convention report), so I'm not sure if it's being moved due to low ratings or just what is going on with that.

Yea, the boob blurries always bug me, which now i wanna watch the movie again, so i might as well buy the thing.
After seeing the last half of the movie last night (even though ive see it like 2 or 3 times already), i might consider buying it for the new released DVD that has the Manga version of Motoko on the DVD covers at my Coconuts for i still guessing ther for 20 bucks. Its the "Masamune Shirow Collectors Edition" something thats in a silver cover.
You know, it doesnt matter how many times ive seen this movie, i still wanna watch it over and over again, but not like every day.
Ill check into it this week sometime...

No but it's the difference to me of having Sean Schemmel as Goku verus Kirby Morrow as Goku. One is the voice of Goku. One protrayed the voice of Goku. Both are exceptional as VAs. But only one would consider Goku. The other would be clearly considered Mirkou if not Van Fanel.

Perhaps but one has to agree that SAC is by far an improvement for the whole Ghost in the Shell series. One only has to look at the pretty but other wise uninspired effort of "Ghost in the Shell: Innocence" to see that aspect.

This movie is pretty good in itself, though SAC is better in the action department and easier to follow. I only started to like this movie after I saw SAC and read the original manga.
