BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY:
Shrek- Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Joe Stillman and Roger S.H. Schulman
SOUND EDITING:
Monsters, Inc.
ORIGINAL SONG:
If I Didn't Have You, Randy Newman ("Monsters, Inc.")
ORIGINAL SCORE:
Monsters, Inc., Randy Newman
BEST ANIMATED FEATURE:
Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius
Shrek
Monsters, Inc.
BEST ANIMATED SHORT SUBJECT:
Fifty Percent Grey
For The Birds
Give Up Yer Aul Sins
Strange Invaders
Stubble Trouble
Ok nominations, but I think Shrek's musical score by Harry Gregson-Williams deserved a nomination and Shrek's "Merry Men" deserved a Best Original Song nom ( :D ). Hey, if they could nominate "Blame Canada," why not Merry Men?
Also, the other animated films that could have been nominated for Best Animated Feature are:
Pokemon 3 (God forbid this film was even MENTIONED)
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (Nice animation, awful script)
Final Fantasy (Same thing, but kind of pointless. Animation has to be a little cartoony!)
Osmosis Jones (Preferred over Jimmy Neutron...how did it even get NOMINATED???)
Waking Life (Again, preffered over Jimmy Neutron)
As for live-action categories...I'm deadlocked over Moulin Rouge and The Fellowship of the Ring. Both are excellent movies (LOTR has a whopping 13 nominations!).
What are your opinions on the animation categories and the other Oscar awards in general of this year?
