Will Mugen ever stop asking questions? :p

Anyway, now it's pretty doubtful that Blood+ will get a promo for weeknights. Only two more weeks before Bleach takes the 12:30 slot again.

What bump was this?

they start with something like "a classic is coming back" then flash through a whole bunch of those old black and white anime cards until they get to Bebop :)

Apparently episode two of the 2nd season of Metalocalypse is so metal, it can only be aired once.

Old-school Bebop promos returning!

By the way, in the "This Saturday" bump, was that Blood+ clip from the next opening?

By the way, in the "This Saturday" bump, was that Blood+ clip from the next opening?

It did say "NEW FANCY OPEN" above the clip.

Hopefully this means the return of the 60-second promo narrated by John Billingslea. That one's my favorite.

IGNORE ME but not the ratings

Saturday, September 1st

Futurama: 738,000
Blood+: 399,000
Bleach: 378,000

the marathon must have reminded people futurama is on saturday

New: All

I only saw it for a second, so I didn't see the new fancy opening line.

And WOW at those Futurama numbers. The marathon viewers actually spilled over to the next week. Too bad Bleach and Blood+ suffered though. Speaking of them, Blood+ over Bleach is interesting.

D Dubbs
09-10-2007, 12:49 AM
Blood+ higher than Bleach? That's pretty cool.

Yeah...Futurama...wow. And Home Movies didn't make the Top 3 even though it was right after it? Bizarre.

Wow, Futurama got over 300,000 more viewers than any of the anime. This is why Adult Swim added more comedy to the lineup. I mean, the anime didn't even crack 400,000. That's pathetic. Of course, Home Movies did even worse. I guess we really can't blame Bleach for losing 300,000 viewers when Home Movies was the show that lost them. I still don't know what the hell they were thinking by putting Home Movies on Saturdays.

Home Movies has about as much ratings appeal as Britney Spears at the VMA's [/rimshot].

Doubling up Futurama before its last bow doesn't seem like a bad idea now.

Yes it would seem Home Movies effectively killed the steam Bleach had going. At least it's still over 300k. Time to move it. Time to move it NOW.

So, Futurama saturdays once again dominate the raitings, could this be a sign?

All I know is that the ratings for this Saturday can't be much better with the 4.7 Spike TV scored.

But everyone said that Bleach ratings were self contained and that the strength of the lead in didn't matter :p

I wouldn't put all the blame on Home Movies. No show would have been able to hold on to a good percentage of the Futurama audience.

Yeah, Bleach would have done better if it directly followed Futurama, but I doubt the difference would have been anything substantial.

Maybe they should just move all their shows after Futurama back a half hour and have something like this if they're so concerned about ratings:

11:00 Futurama
11:30 Bleach
12:00 Blood+
12:30 GitS
1:00 Trinity Blood
1:30 Voltron
2:00 Astro Boy

Well, back when new episodes of Full Metal Alchemist aired after Futurama, they were pretty damn high. But, that was a couple of years ago.

Yeah, ever since the big anime premieres shifted to 12 AM hour, they've been the strongest slots for anime. 11:30 doesn't do too badly though, as we saw with TB.

Thing is, the 12 AM hour is more consistent than 11:30, which tends to spike or fall a lot.

Of course Kikyo's still alive. Comic book rules dictate: no body, no death.

Next week on Dr. Phil: My Boyfriend is a Two-Timing Half-Demon Necrophiliac.

Introducing Kikyo 3.0! Twice as melancholic, twice as useless.

Screw Spike. What about the fact that the MTV VMAs took home just under 4 million 18-34 viewers this past Sunday evening?

Master Moltar

Plus it pushed MTV above AS for the week in 18-34 to take #1. That's the first time AS hasn't been #1 in that demo since early 2007, before Nielson adjusted their system to include college students.

Hmm, I wonder if I should watch Home Movie tonight. There are only two episodes left before Boondocks replaces it, so I don't think it's worth it, especially since it doesn't seem like this conflict between Brandon and his dad will come to an end anytime soon.

Whoa, really? Man, I bet that pissed adult swim off, finally losing that slot, if only for a week.
Edit: I'll be watching Home Movies tonight. I hear it's one of the best episodes of the series, even if it doesn't advance the Dad plot any.
Edit 2: Actually, I'm pretty tired, so I've set it to record. But still, I'll watch it. Just not tonight. >_>
