Here are the Disney shorts rarely shown on TV, that I'm aware of...

"Der Fuehrer's Face" - wonderful cartoon but one that the current Disney firm isn't proud of because they don't like the thought of their favorite duck supporting Hitler (albeit, very reluctantly).

"Education for Death" - similar to "Der Fuehrer's Face", the Disney firm doesn't care for this cartoon as its' rather forced, hard-hitting, anti-Nazi propaganda theme probably wouldn't fly very well with today's audiences. In fact, for this reason, when actually seen, it's barely recognized as a Disney short.

"Californy 'er Bust" - not WW-II themed but contains a lot of American Indian stereotypes. For that reason, Disney doesn't show this, lest they lose their American Indian audiences.

"How to Be a Detective" - Supposedly a rather dark cartoon for Disney. People are stabbed with knives, shot by guns, and pushed off buildings and bridges. Not the typical warm Disney fare they want their audiences to enjoy (NOTE: I am very desperate to see this cartoon).

"Spare the Rod" - Actually, this cartoon IS shown on TV... but it may as well not be because the main plot involves Donald mistaking three black cannibals for his nephews. All scenes with the cannibals have been removed in the televized version making it almost impossible to comprehend and enjoy.

I haven't seen any of the banned Disney shorts, but here are the others I know of
"Trader Mickey"-Many African caricatures

"Cannibal Capers"-same as above

"Mickey's Man Friday"-ditto

"Hell's Bells"-This cartoon is set in Hell and features Satan and a bunch of demons dancing around. Why the heck is this banned??? From what I've heard about it, it ain't offensive at all!! :( I guess Disney doesn't want to offend...hmm..uh....I don't know.

TRADER MICKEY (1932): This short is a spoof of the 1931 MGM feature TRADER HORN.This cartoon is where Mickey and Pluto is stranded in a jungle surounded by hungry cannibals that want dine on Mickey and Pluto.

HELL'S BELLS (1929):There is rumors about this "Silly Symhponies" cartoon being banned or not.The cartoon takes place in Hell, with Satan being the main character in this short.Satan watches demons dancing while his servents feed him fire from a part dragon/part cow. This cartoon is nowhere to be shown on either on "INK AND PAINT CLUB" or any Disney videos for that matter.

THE COMMANDO DUCK (1943):This WW2 short has Donald taking on the Japaneese soliders..completely banned

MICKEY'S MELLERDRAMER (1933):Another one of four banned Mickey Mouse cartoons. This short has Mickey and the rest of the gang puttin on a play titled "Uncle Tom's Cabin".In which Mickey puts a stick of dynamite in mouth and explodes and he becomes blackface playing two roles, Little Eva and Uncle Tom.

EDUCATION FOR DEATH (1943):This short focuses on Hitler and the German youth movment during WW2.

CANNIBAL CAPERS (1930):This is one early "Silly Symphonies" cartoon which includes black cannibals. One of the cannibals mocks a jewish peddler stereotype with a turtle.

MICKEY'S MAN FRIDAY (1935):Mickey comes to the rescue to a pygmie and befriends him from a group of man eating cannibals. Mickey names his new friend "Friday", voiced by Billy Bletcher.

MICKEY IN ARABIA (1932):This Mickey short features many black stereotypes .Has not be shown in decades...

Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes were both named after the Silly Symphonies (so were MGM's Happy Harmonies).

Books, magazine articles, and interviews are probably the best sources for animation history. You should probably check out your public library for books like "Of Mice and Magic" by Leonard Maltin.
