Meh not really, the movies are about as in depth the character can really get, maybe a Marvel DTV, but an animated series would be beyond awful. And a apperently a live action one dont work either, so yea, I think guest starring roles are where he works best(outside the first 2 movies ).

I don't need or want to see a Blade series, and if there were one, I definitely wouldn't watch it (I didn't watch the live-action series either), but I was never a fan of Blade or of vampires in general. Witches and wizards are cooler, IMHO.

If it were to work, it would definitely have to be TV-MA.

They're already making a Wolverine series. Read this (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=156635).

But not an uncensored 'Logan' series. So it will be more complaining of the same.

Well, as long as animated super hero shows are geared toward kids and general audiences, that's about as close as you're going to get, at least for now. Let's face it, the true Wolverine isn't a family friendly character. Unless the animated series would be pitched to Spike TV or HBO, you're no going to get Wolverine uncensored.

Blade series would rock if he had more villains...

Aside from Decon Frost all he has are nameless vampires or vampires that already exist in other kinds of lore.

I don't know how much of an ongoing you could do with this character, since he's never even had much of an ongoing comic. Cool character, though.
I think a DTV movie would be very possible, though.

I would like one.Would anyone else want oneThe Spike TV Blade series was ok and fun to watch. It was more drama than action, but still interesting to watch.
In the later seasons of Buffy, she didn't seem to fight vampires as much - she moved onto Gods, Demons and boring lesbians - do you think a Blade series could work if he thought the various demons/monsters of the underworld or should he stick to slaying vampires?

Well, it would fall into Hellboy territory, but sure.
And this time, to improve on the Buffy formula, let's also throw in fun lesbians. :anime:

My point exactly.

At first a Blade series seems kind of like a bad idea due to his lack of a variety of rogues but if Blade goes after not only the vamps but also the humans that have the vampire glyphs tattooed on themselves, there could be some interesting stories. Since the human familiars have basically infiltrated every level of industry in the world, it wouldn't be too hard to come up with at least a few seasons of good material. Of course it would have to be on Spike or HBO like Spawn was.

Wasn't there an animated Blade series in the works at one point? Once that would be TV-14/TV-MA? I vaguely remember hearing that Marvel was shopping that property around.

Yep, shortly after Blade II was released, HBO expressed extreme interest in a Blade cartoon but the show never got off the ground due to Goyer being hard at work on what was Blade III and by the time the third film came out, HBO canceled the project due to all of the fallout from Trinity. Spike soon pounced on the Blade tv opportunity and thus the live action show was born and dead after one season.

I saw a few episodes of the blade series but was not impressed with it. I gave it a chance though.
As for a blade cartoon? I would at least give it a chance.

You guys do know Blade was a Marvel comic book right? (I'm addressing this to some of the early posters, they mentioned the live action movies so I figured they didn't know.)
Anyway, I think Blade appeared on the 90's Spider-Man cartoon so it would be good if every few episodes, he'd have a Marvel guest appearance. If they did that, I would watch it.

The Blade that came in Spider-Man was lame in my opinion.
