Good grief, is this film really nearly 10 years old?!? I still remember going to watch this movie: it was the first of the Halloween movies I had ever seen. It was okay, but I remember thinking, "I enjoyed the Friday the 13th movies more"...
I also remember some people in the audience a few rows up from me wouldn't shut up, and an usher had to come ask them to be quiet.

Oh, I can top this. The following is a list of films I have seen people making out at:
TMNT: And these two were hot and heavy. There are children here. Stop.
Revenge of the Sith: HEY! This is geek central! Not allowed! None of us have ever seen that before! The saddest thing is, it was much better than the movie.
Pan's Labrynth: People who are turned on by mutant insects deeply frighten me.
Hero: These two got stopped. They were on the ground and loud. It's subtitled. PAY ATTENTION! Seriously, we should have a thread devoted to screwed up experiences at the theater :p.
I also saw two people on a date at Day Watch. Evidently, Russian vampires are romantic. Hey, I've been out of the dating scence an awful long time.
And now, Laurie must do what she should have done a long time ago and finally decided to hunt down the evil one last time.
That didn't go too well :p. Curtis kids needed the cash to go to college though ;).

First Halloween film I saw in the theater. Much, much potential, but I didn't like it. Partially because, unlike others, I was enjoying the previous sequels and felt slighted that this film completely ignored them in favor of continuing on only from the first two movies.
The film does have its moments. The rest stop bathroom scene is pretty creepy, and the sequence where Michelle Williams and Valium Boy (I mean, Josh Harnett) are trapped between the door and locked gate with Michael slashing at them with his knife is actually pretty suspenseful. As nice as it was to see Laurie Strode back, I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was overacting in some scenes. The seemingly ever-changing masks were annoying, too. Overall, the film just didn't even really feel like a Halloween movie. Eh. I was bored.

I thought this was a decent sequel. It helps that it featured people who could actually act, and I preferred the "back to basics" approach over the druid nonsense. I can't watch this movie without hearing the jokes from the MST3K summer special, though.
"The family therapist says I should hit you in the face with an axe!"
Laurie Strode: "No, she faked her death."
Tom Servo: "It worked until they started embalming her."
I still call this movie Halloween Water.

This was the first Halloween movie that I had seen, and I enjoyed it. I thought that it brought about a good conclusion to the franchise. Laurie was finally able to stop running and kill the person who had murdered her sister and had tried twice before to murder her. She was facing her fear and erradicating the source of terror and evil that had brought misery to many people. She had been given her chance to really be called the hero in this franchise. It was ruined by Halloween: Resurrection, but I like to think that Halloween: Resurrection could be a "What If?" film. "What If Laurie Strode had chopped the head off of the wrong body?":D
Like I said, this was the first Halloween movie that I had the pleasure of seeing, and not yet having seen Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, or Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, it doesn't bother me that Halloween: H20 ignors the previous three movies since it is ignored by Halloween: Resurrection, the ending at least. It's not like H20 tells us that 4, 5, and 6 didn't occur. There was just no reason to mention them since they didn't involve Laurie Strode. None of the movies reference Season of the Witch, at least out of those that I have seen. "Happy, Happy, Halloween, Halloween. Happy, Happy Halloween. Silver Shamrock.":D The darn song won't get out of my head. If anyone knows where I can find this song by artist or title, I would appreciate the information. I think it would be perfect for the October (Halloween) edition of Animeniac of the Airwaves, the CDs that I put together to play over the speakers at Best Buy.

first post whoo
i thought that this was a pretty strong sequal all things considered. It had less blood then some of the earlier ones and michael and the whole film itself seemed to have more of a focus then most of the previous entries.

A cop at the beginning says Michael Myers has not been seen in twenty years, effectively saying he did not resurface in 1988, 1989, and 1995. Directer Steve Miner even said this film is supposed to be "the first sequel."

It's available on the Halloween III soundtrack, probably the only place to find it, and I think it's out-of-print. I used to see all the scores pretty regularly at Wherehouse and Best Buy, so I'm glad I bought them all when I did.

Sorry. It's been a while since I've seen the film. Even the smallest line can contain a lot of information. Let's just assume that that cop wasn't telling the truth. I like to believe that with the exception of this new film and Resurrection, the films featuring Michael Myers all tie together.
Thank you for the information. I'll have to ask one of my horror-fan co-workers if they have the soundtrack.:D

That's silly to say, if only because H20 relies so heavily on the "Laurie is Michael's sister" revelation in Halloween 2.

Yeah, Miner was a little inconsistent, because the film does reference Halloween II, just barely with "You said yourself, you saw him burn to death."

Best of the series. It thankfully ignored the whole Thorn business and made a great ending to a great trilogy.
I find little fault with this film. 'Nuff said.

Another thing I disliked about this movie was the use of a soundalike reciting Dr. Loomis' lines over the opening credits, instead of just using the actual sound clips from the original film.
