wouldnt that be awesome if there was an uncut anime channel? I would watch it like 24/7 but I doubt that it will happen... anybody else think that this would be awesome...?

It would be awesome. But the likelyhood of it actually happening in America (in out lifetime, anyway) are insanely small.
It makes me sad. :(

We'll remedy this. C'mon, We're going to hit Fox, Nick, then any other [yevon]damned network that tries to cancel our favorite programs becuase there aren't enough explosions and bikinis. After we reduce Fox to a smoking pile of rubble, we salvage all that equipment to pick up the all anime channel in japan, and with Nick's equipment, well, we'll burn that again, to sterilize it, then...we'll figure it out.

It's called premium channels... I see crazy uncut stuff there all the time. Other than that, stop being a bum and buy the dvds.

Well, in that case, you're pretty much stuck with what you've got...
Any particular reason you have a problem with 'net purchases? Just curious since I buy most everything - except food - over the 'net and I haven't had any problems (yet).

Most likely he used it with a less-than-reputable company. If you stick to the big names like Amazon.com, and use PayPal for any personal credit transactions (like eBay auctions), your number is as safe as if you had phoned in an order.

It would be sweet to have an all Anime channel! Look,I'm a huge anime fan,so like if that happens,I'm so gonna ruin my whole schedule [and I dont mind that cause my schedule is boring!] and make sure I dont miss-Gundam,DB,DBZ,Zoids,Tenchi Muyo,Tenchi Universe,Tenchi Tokyo and Outlaw Star! And If I miss Cowboy Bebop,I'll be dying. They should make an all adult swim channel too...

Chuckles.. funny you guys should be talking about this... it's my dream to make a network like this... And I am currently going to school to do this. =)

Sorry but, there's a school for it? I thought you had to be a rich bastard and be in close ties with AOL Time Warner that owns almost everything. Or work for Viacom which owns a hell of a lot of tv stations. Guess I was wrong  . Well, good luck on making the channel. We're all rootin' for ya'.

MmmHmm! That's incredibly cool. I agree that we're all rooting for you. The networks are going to hell in a handbasket IMO. All they want anymore is cheap reality programming, or sitcoms which have definitely overstayed their welcome with overpaid hacks doing the most hackneyed slapstick Bullsh*t imaginable (think Friends, Frasier, etc.). I hate NBC with a passion, and FOX is the basest, most unintelligent network and geting worse all the time! Compounding the situation is the fact that since cable is gaining a good deal of the network audience, its programming is following the same pathetic path of playing to the lowest common denominator. I say kill the b*st*rds, take over all of TV, and start getting more stuff out there that reasonably intelligent people can connect with!
(In case you couldn't tell, I have two hours to kill between classes, and I drank a tall mochaccino.)

LoL, I have the money part down, I am going to college for a degree in business and telecommunications. It's gonna take me a good portion of my life, but hell, it's worth it.

Well, back in the day, when TV first started, people couldn't even say stuff like "lazy bum", then violence started slowly being allowed on, then in the past few years, words like bastard have been able to go on uncut, and the shows rating wont go up to M. Chances are, we won't see uncut anime on tv for a long time, but it'll happen.

====================
The channel known as KTEH airs uncut, subtitled anime sunday nights between 9-10pm. Sumtimes they have marathons (i saw a robotech one and a bubblegum crisis one) that start at 8pm and go til the series ends or they run out of air time. Currently they are showing Dirty Pair Flash (an awesome anime) 1 episode at a time at either 9 or 9:30pm.
====================
I also think people in San Jose get KTEH, but im not sure, check your local listings.

I can think of a couple hundred reasons that this idea would not work (though I'd love it to).
For starters, Cartoon Network owns a lot of the crappy and overseen animes (zoids, dbz, read list of animes some kid listed b4). After that, you have a lot of animes that are too successful to be put on a channel that would be as lowly funded as this one. (GitS, etc.) Even if they could get these movies and shows you have to know that good animes are often very short (lain) and will be rerun many many many many times. Also I fear that this channel would end up showing movies like GitS as many times as channels like comedy central play Very Bad Things (that movie sucks).
And of course, in the world animes, many would be torn apart with edits. And of course, there are more crappy animes in this world than you can shake a stick at. There are so few good animes i ncomparison that a viewer would be left with lots and lots of garbage.
And last, you have to remember the times and cost and aquiring animes and then translating as well as editing them.
Basically, this idea has good intentions but would not end up at the level you wished (sort of like communism). Our only real hope is someone like HBO to decide to take up a full Anime Channel. They have lots of money to throw around and no edits.
:D my opinion atleast!

Hey HBO & CN are sister networks, so you never know. A Uncut Anime channel could happen.

Uncut anime channel? They don't even have that in Japan, and most anime shown on tv are edited anyway. You can tell this from the differences between tv series and OAVs. So in conclusion, an uncut anime channel will never happen.
However, an ADULT animation channel is another story...

Although I think that its only on satellite the stars action channel shows uncut anime (sometimes subbed, sometimes dubbed) fairly regularly. I know that some of the stars channels have made it onto cable, why not try to get the action channel onto premium cable as well? It would be a good test run to see how the foreign action flicks and anime fare when a larger audience is available. Perhaps it would lead to a larger amount of uncut anime making it onto other channels like HBO, Cinemax, or the Movie channel. Because in my opinion, uncut anime will only ever be seen on premium cable stations.

Channels I would make if I ruled TV:
Stomp: A channel dedicated to giant monsters.
Kick: Martial arts flicks
Slaughterama: Horror movies, the worse the better
Tights: Movies, TV shows, cartoons, serials etc. about super heros
Rock 'n' Reel: Music oriented films.
Neo-Tokyo: Anime
Spin off chanels I would have made before even considering Boomerang if I ruled Cartoon Network:
Acme Channel: All the classic cartoons from the classic studios
Toonami: All action, Mostly anime
Cartoon Cartoon Chanel: Cartoon Network originals
an animated sitcom channel, like adult swim with more shows and no anime (unless it's an anime sitcom)
THEN I would make Boomerang

Does ANYONE watch boomerang? CN says that the channel is profitable, Which kind of makes sense, they own all the series and probably get SOME commercials for them. But I don't know of a single person that watches it.

Sometimes I like to laugh at the campiness of cheap cartoons of yesteryear, and old HB fair deserves it's place I guess. But these are really bad. My cable company doesn't have Boomerang yet, but it's been my misfortune to be up late a few times on sunday nights and these are foul attemps at humour they should be ashamed of. Jay Ward & Bill Scott really put these guys to shame.

Yeah, but they have to pay next to nothing to air them, so it's really easy to make a profit, albiet a small one.
