View Full Version : Will Adult Swim Sat. feature original openings?(for Matt or anyone who can answer)

I think this question was brought up before, but I don't remeber a definate answer ever being stated, so will Adult Swim Saturdays feature the original(japanese or english where available) openings to their shows? I pretty sure Cowboy Bebop will, since it did on sundays, but what about the new shows? Yu Yu, Canidate for Goddess(the other name for it sounds so stupid) and Gundam 0083? Also what about Tenchi and Outlaw Star? Do you think they will use the original openings for them this time? I could see Tenchi, since Pioneer did an english version of the 2nd opening to Tenchi Muyo! "I'm a Pioneer", and the 1st opening doesn't matter, since it's instrumental, and Universe's opening also has an english version, not sure about TIT though, Outlaw Star seems questionable, but they did leave in the japanese closings. So enough of my rambling, does anybody have a definate answer since the new lineup starts saturday, and we haven't heard anything yet?

As far as I know, only the first two hours will have OPs. Tenchi and OLS will probably just cut right to the beginning of the episode and not show an intro at all(similar to how Space Ghost is these days).

no big loss for Tenchi and Outlaw Star since they're openings are lousy, although it sets a bad precedent for any upcoming shows.

While Outlaw Star's japanese opening's visuals are corny, the song is very cool.

I'm glad the first two hours are getting their OPs especially 0083. It's first opening theme rocks. But it's believable that Tenchi and Outlaw Star will probably just cut straight to the beginning like Zoids.

If Big O ever comes to Adult Swim Action, I hope it gets it's original OP intact. It's hilarious. I've never seen a more obvious Queen/Flash Gordon ripoff.

What's a OP?

I figured enough that it means the opening intro, but what does OP stand for?

Yes I am dense.

Yes I am dense. OP does mean opening. ED means ending. I'm saying that's right unless someone says otherwise.
