I've only heard a little bit about Flag. It's a hard Sci-Fi Mecha anime that's been mostly under the radar. Its story seems to be based upon the hunt for a stolen flag that is needed to help calm the tensions in a small country racked by civil war. Considering Bandai's specialty is mecha anime, it's not surprising to see them license it.

I've seen about half the series: it has great animation but I find it a bit boring.

And now I start debating what to do about GS Destiny's ending. Volume 11 shouldn't include the little moon trip and the utterly horrible episode that came after it, so for the most part it should be a good buy. Volume 12...now that'll be a tough sell, that disc will end up leading off with that crappy arc. Sheesh, why couldn't they have given us 30 minutes of Kira and Athrun shooting people? Bandai has to release it but I wish the Special Edition release were coming faster.

I think I favor the normal Haruhi release. The SE's are excellent qualify but I'd get it for the episode order, I'm not much of an extras man. And episode order isn't worth a minimum of 30 bucks extra.

Well, Flag seems to be a possible purchase. Seeing as how it mirrors today's war. But this time with the inclusion of mechs.

Athrun: That BS isn't going to work on this damn Abridged series Lacus. **** you, and **** your boytoy, and **** that episode that forced us to go the ****ING moon, so you can buy your ****ING clothes. We could've had plot development, or character development, but no, it always has to be about ****ING you and your ****ING ideals, and anybody else that idolises you in the most godawful similar ****ING way.
Kira: ...Uh... You know we still need to give her a proper funeral and all that right?
Athrun: No! We don't! This episode is over! Now turn that off right now before I rip your head off and **** down your ne--- (episode promptly ends)

I'm thinking this'll be a 2 to 3 minute episode tops.

Lacus: Oh, well that's all right then.

In-character Kira would remember episode 13 and that bloody sniper, think of Flay's unexpected death, and be a hell of a lot more protective. But no.

Then they go meet Meer and don't even wait for backup. And they don't listen to Athrun again. What the hell.

For some reason, they thought wasting two episodes on a wannabe popstar and propaganda tool, one of the worst characters, would be the best thing to do within 5 episodes of the end. Again, what the hell.

To roughly paraphrase JD on Scrubs, "Kira and Lacus had reached that point in their relationship where they thought they knew everything".

Personally, my own belief was that the sudden Meer focus was a cheap attempt to blind the audience with fanservice. "There are no production problems here!....Look, boobies!"
